Team USA Complete Final Cross-Country Runs Before Paris

Eventing fans cheered on the Paris-bound Team USA riders as the mandatory outing wrapped up today with the cross-country phase at Stable View Horse Trials. The team riders and alternates competed in the Advanced division, using Capt. Mark Phillips’ course as a final run before heading to the Olympics next month.

Paris-Bound Riders Reflect on Day 1 of Mandatory Outing

The first day of this weekend’s mandatory outing for the U.S. Olympic Eventing Team kicked off on Friday, June 21, as the team riders, including all the reserves, took part in the Advanced division at the Stable View Summer H.T. With legendary Ian Stark revving up the spectators’ team spirit as announcer, the riders are using this event as a final prep before the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

2024 Rebecca Farm Travel Grants Announced

The Event at Rebecca Farm is set to begin in less than one month in Kalispell, Montana. Competitors from around the country are preparing to travel to the event, and thanks to the generosity of the Broussard Family Charitable Foundation and administration of the USEA Foundation, that trip will be made more accessible through the Rebecca Farm Travel Grants.

An avid eventer for years, University of New Hampshire (UNH) Horse Trials organizer Liz Oertel Johnson has kept the twice-yearly event running smoothly since her undergrad days at UNH. Now a Senior Lecturer at UNH in the Animal Science degree program where she primarily teaches courses in Equine Studies, Johnson has been utilizing the United States Eventing Association’s (USEA) ShowConnect software since its inception in 2021 to keep the UNH Horse trials running smoothly.

Small Circles, Big Impact: Bec Braitling Focuses on Flatwork on Day 1 of EA21 Central Clinic

Each of the twelve riders selected to participate in the 2024 USEA Emerging Athlete U21 (EA21) Central Regional Clinic comes from different backgrounds. Some have begun their FEI careers, while others are gearing up for a Modified move up, some are on experienced schoolmasters, while others are on catch rides or greener horses. EA21 Coach Bec Braitling took that into account when brainstorming what the lesson plan for flatwork day at the Central Clinic might look like.
