Giving oral medications to horses can be an arduous task! Pastes are a little easier than other oral medications, often with a long syringe that can be placed towards the rear of the horse’s mouth. Pills, however, can be very difficult to administer to our horses.
The first USEA Board of Governors was made up of 11 members of the eventing community dedicated to educating equestrians about the sport and developing the sport’s structure at the national level. Today, the Board’s mission remains largely the same as it was in 1959, with its 21 members focused on ensuring the future of our sport.

Over 12,895 members, 235 recognized events, and 42,000 entries - the United States Eventing Association (USEA) has come a long way since its inception in 1959. In 2019, USEA will mark its 60th anniversary, and in 60 years the USEA has seen it all: the ups and downs, the victories and heartbreak, and the countless individuals who have kept the sport of three-day eventing alive.
