With less than 20 days remaining until the United States Eventing Association American Eventing Championships (AEC) presented by Nutrena Feeds at Rebecca Farm, to date over five hundred entries have been received. Entries for the event close on August 16, 2022. Those entrants in the AEC championship divisions this year are qualifying under the requirements that have been in place for the last several years. However, for those intending to compete at the 2023 AEC in Kentucky, the USEA Board of Governors have approved a strengthening to the qualification requirements.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to compete in a traditional long format Three-Day Event? Can you imagine the thrill of three additional phases leading into cross-country? In the early 2000s, eventing began to shift away from long format events and toward modern short-format competitions. Not all is lost though! The United States Eventing Association (USEA) created the USEA Classic Series to give riders a taste of the old school experience. These competitions preserve eventing’s history and allow riders at the Beginner Novice through Preliminary levels to take on the challenge of traditional long format events.
As the cutoff date to qualify for Le Lion inches closer, talented young horses and riders in contention for the The Holekamp/Turner YEH Lion d’Angers Grant are gearing up for the final push in hopes of being selected as the grant recipient. Grant funds will assist the selected pair with costs associated with competing at the FEI Eventing World Breeding Championships in the 7-year-old CCIYH3*-L Championship slated to be held later this fall. 2020 Dutta Corp. USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) Championships competitors and their respective owners and riders have paid careful attention to this summer’s schedule making sure that they would meet the necessary qualifications for La Mondial du Lion in Le Lion d’Angers, France.

Since the inaugural USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC) held in 2004 at the Carolina Horse Park in Raeford, N.C. hosted the first 413 starters, the annual championship has served as a benchmark for eventers of all levels within the sport. For 18 years, the USEA AEC has continuously grown and evolved to match the needs and ambitions of the USEA’s members.
After a long-anticipated wait, US Equestrian has announced their team selections for the 2022 FEI Eventing World Championships which will take place at Pratoni del Vivaro in Rome, Italy on September 15-18, 2022. Making up this year’s World Championships roster are Will Coleman and his own 13-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding Off The Record (VDL Arkansas x Drumogoland Bay), Ariel Grald and Annie Elridge’s 13-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding Leamore Master Plan (Master Imp x Andragh Bash), Lauren Nicholson and Jacqueline Mars’ 15-year-old Anglo-Arab gelding Vermiculus (Serazim x Wake Me Gently), Boyd Martin and Christine Turner’s 15-year-old Trakehner gelding Tsetserleg TSF (Windfall x Thabana), and Tamra Smith and Alexandra and Ellen Ahearn and Eric Markell’s 16-year-old German Sport Horse gelding Mai Baum (Loredano x Ramiro). Will Coleman and Team Rebecca LLC’s 12-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding Dondante are the Direct Reserve and Phillip Dutton will serve as the Traveling Reserve with the Z Partnership’s 14-year-old Zangersheide gelding Z (Asca x Bellabouche).
