Are you an Adult Rider looking to set new competition goals for 2025? Do you want to experience the excitement of team competition while connecting with fellow riders who share similar life experiences? Consider competing in a USEA Adult Team Challenge this year! Build camaraderie and gain valuable competition experience at your Area’s Adult Team Challenges. Then set your sights on the ultimate event—the USEA Adult Team Championships (ATC) at the USEA American Eventing Championships presented by Nutrena Feeds (AEC).
For years, the Adult Team Challenges took place in three regional locations—Eastern, Central, and Western. However, to revitalize the program, USEA members voted to restructure the model in 2014. Now, each Area hosts its own Adult Team Challenges, giving riders more opportunities to compete as a team and prepare for the ATC. This change expanded access to these exciting competitions, making them more inclusive and widely available across the country. This year there are over 20 challenges happening across all 10 USEA Areas, with the potential of more to come!
The Adult Team Championships will be hosted at the AEC at the Galway Downs in Temecula, California, on Aug. 26–31. This year, Beginner Novice, Novice, Training, Modified, and Preliminary divisions will be offered at the Adult Team Championships. The ATC is a great opportunity to meet new members in your Area and form relationships with likeminded competitors! For a full list of qualifications and procedures for the ATC, click here. Adult Riders will be expected to submit a Letter of Intent to compete in the Adult Team Championships at the AEC, and more information on this process will be released in the coming weeks.
View the list of Adult Team Challenges below to see what is being offered in your area this year. Keep in mind that the calendar is a tentative list of events hosting Adult Team Challenges that is subject to change. New challenges may be added regularly, so members are encouraged to reach out to their favorite local events to invite them to apply to host a team challenge. Please continue to check here for any updates throughout the year.

About the Adams Horse Supply USEA Adult Team Championships
The Adams Horse Supply USEA Adult Team Championships, which debuted in 2014, is the capstone event for the USEA Area Adult Team Challenges, providing adults the chance to compete as a team and represent their Area of the country in a friendly and fun environment. Historically, adult riders had three regional Team Challenges in which to compete with fellow adults in a team environment, with the locations changing each year. In 2013, the USEA Adult Rider Coordinators voted to move to support Adult Team Challenges taking place in all 10 Areas across the country, with the finale being the ATC at the USEA American Eventing Championships presented by Nutrena Feeds. Each Area can send up to eight teams from Beginner Novice through Preliminary level to the ATC. Adult Riders know how to have a good time, and there is no doubt that they bring an increased level of excitement and camaraderie to the AEC! About the USEA Adult Rider Program
The USEA Adult Rider Program is open to all adults, professional or amateur, aged 22 years and older. The program aims to unite adults across all skill and experience levels in a supportive program that promotes education, communication, recognition, and fun! The goal of the Adult Rider program is to continue to encourage participation in the sport of eventing beyond one’s junior years by providing educational programs, support to Area Adult Rider programs, funding opportunities, and the Adult Team Championships (ATC) at the USEA American Eventing Championships, presented by Nutrena Feeds. The 2025 USEA Intercollegiate & Interscholastic Eventing Championships are officially two months away! Collegiate and IEL athletes from across the country are gearing up for what has been coined the “Happiest Horse Trials on Earth,” and the USEA can’t wait for the fun to begin. This year’s championships will again be hosted by Stable View in Aiken, South Carolina, and will now be hosted across three days on Friday, May 2 through Sunday, May 4 to give the students even more time to enjoy all that the event has to offer.
Entering the 25th year that the Baxter family has owned Twin Rivers Ranch, the 2025 eventing season in California’s wine country kicked off with the Twin Rivers Winter Horse Trials from Feb. 28 to March 2—the first of five USEA-recognized events to be held in Paso Robles, California, this year.
The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is excited to announce a collaboration with Dubarry of Ireland for a special giveaway! Known for their premium footwear, Dubarry has teamed up with the USEA to offer equestrians an exclusive opportunity.
Equally as important as staying brushed up on your knowledge of the USEF Rules for Eventing, it is also important to stay up to date on any rule changes coming through the pipeline. In this month's edition of Rule Refresher, we are outlining the six extraordinary rule changes that will be going into effect on April 1, 2025. For more detailed information on these extraordinary rule changes, please refer to this document provided by USEF.
