Kelly Carter (Dallas, Texas) grew up in the horse world showing on the Arabian, Quarter Horse, and Paint Horse circuits, but after a 17-year-hiatus from equestrian sports, she decided to start from ground zero and give an entirely new discipline a try. That's when she connected with Becky Brown and Rebecca Brown of Seagoville, Texas, and was introduced to the world of eventing.

One of the most competitive CCI4*-S divisions of the spring season took place at the Setters' Run Carolina International from March 13-16 in Raeford, North Carolina, and we were on site to capture all the action!

The coveted Spirit Award at the USEA Intercollegiate & Interscholastic Eventing Championships is incorporating a new component to the always exciting contests and activities: a College Fair! This is an important opportunity for college students to market their schools, not only to impress the Spirit Award judges, but to capture potential new students from the Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) that are looking toward their futures.

They say you can’t have it all, but Mallory Hogan seems to be doing exactly that. She recently completed her undergraduate studies, passed the LSAT and is starting law school—having also competed in eventing up to the CCI4* level across the country. Most remarkably, she’s done it all with—and perhaps thanks to—one horse.
