The Colorado Horse Park (CHP) will begin the 2016 season under the direction of new leadership, as Meg Krueger, former Vice President of Sales & Sponsorship with Equestrian Sport Productions, LLC, (ESP) has been appointed as Chief Operations Officer (COO) for the facility, effective immediately. Alongside Krueger's appointment, a number of facility upgrades and increased competition opportunities for multiple equestrian disciplines will be offered throughout the year including hunter/jumper competition, eventing, dressage, and the highly anticipated North American Junior Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC) presented by Gotham North in late July. CHP will also host the USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC) within the next three years.
"It is an honor to be a part of the expansion process of this facility and I am looking forward to bringing my knowledge and expertise to The Colorado Horse Park during this transition process," said Krueger. "We are motivated to enhance this iconic facility to its full potential and I'm eager to begin working with our team to create a successful and enjoyable atmosphere for our exhibitors and spectators."
Krueger travels to CHP with a wealth of experience in the sponsorship and sales spectrum of business operations, as well as a strong background in horse show management and knowledge, serving as General Manager at Halton Place in Ontario, Canada, for seven years prior to her position with Equestrian Sport Productions, LLC.
At Equestrian Sport Productions, LLC, Krueger structured the Sponsorship & Sales department and managed major sponsorship portfolios for Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC), as well as the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) and the Adequan® Global Dressage Festival (AGDF), two of the largest equestrian competitions in the world.
Responsible for the oversight and management of key activations throughout her tenure as V.P. of Sponsorship & Sales, Krueger played a vital role in the launch of the Artisan Farms Under 25 Grand Prix Series and Athlete Development Program, Lunch & Learn Series, Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) Horse Expo, and expansion of the Para-Equestrian Dressage Tour at AGDF in 2016.
"We feel that there is incredible opportunity for this facility as we begin the expansion and restructuring process at The Colorado Horse Park," commented Mark Bellissimo, managing partner of Colorado Equestrian Partners. "Meg's leadership skills and vast experience in both horse show management and business relations make her a perfect fit to oversee our plans for this facility."
Through Krueger's newly appointed leadership role, The Colorado Horse Park will see a number of essential upgrades this season including improvements to the footing and rings, cross-country course, and facility amenities. Layout modifications to better direct the flow of both competitor and spectator traffic will also be a primary focus of construction in 2016.
"The community surrounding CHP is very important to us and we're looking forward to reconnecting with this region through our development and management in the coming years," continued Krueger.
Competition at CHP is set to begin in mid-March, while the seven-week "Summer in the Rockies" competition series, a highlight at the venue each summer, will begin on June 8, 2016, and continue through July 24, 2016. The North American Junior Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC), will be hosted from July 27-31, 2016.
The Colorado Horse Park FEI CCI **/* and CIC ** competition for eventing competitors will begin on Thursday, June 2, and continue through Sunday, June 6, with increased prize money for FEI competitors. The CCI * and CCI ** divisions will each offer $7,500 in prize money, while the CIC ** division will offer $5,000 in prize money.
Advertising opportunities for the "Summer in the Rockies" Prize List will close on Friday, March 11, and the "Summer in the Rockies" Prize List can be expected in late March 2016 in print and online.

Growing up as a self-proclaimed “free-range child” on her family’s Dragonfire Farm in California, Taylor McFall beelined her way toward horses from the time she could walk. That idyllic childhood helped cement Taylor’s love for horses at an early age.
Whether competing on a U25 team or riding in a senior division, an exciting weekend of sport was had by all at VHC Eventing, presented by Capital Square. With over 450 riders flocking to the historic venue, all three phases ran concurrently with both sides of the cross country course in use and multiple rings in session. This weekend’s winners rose above the fray to take home well-earned blue ribbons.
On this Veteran's Day, we wanted to take a moment to recognize and honor members of our USEA family who have previously served or are actively serving in the various branches of our U.S. military. Meet some of them below and please join us in thanking them for their service.
