The Waredaca Eventing Education Foundation (WEEF) is pleased to announce an expansion of the 2024 Jimmy Wofford Legacy Fund Scholarships thanks to the generous donations of WEEF supporters and several USEA Classic Three-Day event organizers. This year’s scholarship funds will be awarded to several riders from across the country and includes entries to various USEA Classic Three-Day events spread out from coast to coast!

Transport back in time to the long format of three-day eventing by competing in a USEA Classic Series event in the New Year! The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is pleased to announce that the 2024 Classic Series calendar is now available. Traditional long-format events from the Beginner Novice to Preliminary levels are still a reality thanks to the USEA Classic Series and include roads and tracks, steeplechase, and cross-country on "endurance day," as well as horse inspections and additional educational activities throughout the weekend.

The last Olympic long-format was run in 2000 in Sydney, Australia, and the last Kentucky long-format was in 2005. After the transition to the current eventing format, the USEA Classic Three-Day Task Force was born in 2005 by supporters of the traditional format who felt that its influence on the sport was critical in the education of horses and riders.

The USEA is incredibly proud to allow the thrill of the 'chase to live on for those who want to experience the unforgettable rush of the classic long format three-day event through our USEA Classic Series events. Long-format events from the Beginner Novice to Preliminary levels are still a reality with the USEA Classic Series and include roads and tracks, steeplechase, and cross-country on "endurance day," as well as horse inspections. In addition, educational activities are offered at the USEA Classic Series Events to help prepare competitors, especially those who are contesting their first-ever long format event.

The Ram Tap Horse Park Horse Trials hosted the final USEA Classic Series Event of the year this past weekend in Fresno, California. The event offered three traditional long-format divisions at the Beginner Novice, Novice, and Training levels. Meet the final USEA Classic Series champions of 2024 below.

The Area V Championships wrapped up on Nov. 4-5 at the Texas Rose Horse Park in Tyler, Texas.

The Eventing Championships at Galway Downs featured an action-packed weekend with multiple championships, including the USEA Area VI Championships. In total, 11 USEA recognized championship divisions were offered with the addition of two championships at the Starter level. The Waredaca Classic Three-Day Event & H.T. is a destination location for many eventers seeking to complete a USEA Classic Series event. Waredaca was the first host of the USEA Classic Series Three-Day Event, and this year marked its 18th year offering the traditional long format. This year, three-day competition was offered at the Modified, Training, Novice, and Beginner Novice levels.

The Hagyard Midsouth Three-Day Event is a staple in the midwestern eventing calendar, one that often has an impressive waitlist if you didn’t get your entry in at 12:01 a.m. on opening day. This year the event, held Oct. 18-22 in Lexington, Kentucky, also hosted two USEA Classic Series Event divisions at the Novice and Training level, both of which were hotly contested.

The USEA Area II Championships were a little extra special this year as the Maryland Horse Trials was also host to the Mandatory Outing for the 2023 Pan American Games team. Riders of all levels got to ride alongside U.S. team representatives, adding a little extra luster to this year’s event. This year, there were eight new champions crowned at the Preliminary, Modified, Training, Novice, and Beginner Novice levels in Area II. Get to know each of them a little better below.
