The 2025 USEA Intercollegiate and Interscholastic Eventing Championships are just one month away, and time is running out for program members to enter this unforgettable event! The Stable View Local Charities H.T. in Aiken, South Carolina, on May 2-4 will serve as host to both program championships again this year, and the max capacity of 400 horse and rider combinations is quickly filling.

The MARS Bromont Rising U25 scholarship program, administered by the USEA Foundation, is pleased to announce that up to 10 grants of up to $2,500 each will once again be available for talented young riders aged 25 and under aiming to compete in the MARS Bromont (Quebec, Canada) U25 CCIs in June 2025.

For 13-year-old Lila Apple, the pathway to eventing hasn’t always been easy. Self-doubt and confidence issues hindered her progress, but after partnering with a precocious and experienced Thoroughbred and a new trainer who helped her hone her skills, she’s thriving—and even has this year’s USEA Interscholastic Eventing League Championships (IEL) firmly in her sights.

The second edition of the USEA Intercollegiate & Interscholastic Eventing Championships is anticipated to have record participation, and anyone who has attended the event in the past knows that the camaraderie is unbeatable. From the endless decorations to the team chants heard around the grounds, the Collegiate and IEL competitors know how to show their spirit, and their extra pep will again be accessed in the race for the coveted Spirit Awards.

The coveted Spirit Award at the USEA Intercollegiate & Interscholastic Eventing Championships is incorporating a new component to the always exciting contests and activities: a College Fair! This is an important opportunity for college students to market their schools, not only to impress the Spirit Award judges, but to capture potential new students from the Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) that are looking toward their futures.

Madelyn Cease paused as she scrolled the USEA Foundation website. She stopped on the Richard Picken Memorial Grant, realizing she was eligible for it, so she signed up, never expecting to win the $5,000 fund.

Freshman year of college is a time of transition. Between being away from home and learning how to take care of yourself, there’s a lot on your plate. More so for Florida State University student Kani Schram, who found herself with a burgeoning eventing team hoisted upon her when the previous team captain needed to step down.

The 2025 USEA Intercollegiate & Interscholastic Eventing Championships are officially two months away! Collegiate and IEL athletes from across the country are gearing up for what has been coined the “Happiest Horse Trials on Earth,” and the USEA can’t wait for the fun to begin. This year’s championships will again be hosted by Stable View in Aiken, South Carolina, and will now be hosted across three days on Friday, May 2 through Sunday, May 4 to give the students even more time to enjoy all that the event has to offer.

Alison Eastman-Lawler has been an active part of the sport for 44 years—this past year was her toughest yet, as she battled breast cancer while running her two eventing facilities in Areas I and III, organizing countless schooling shows and clinics, and teaching close to a hundred students. But thanks to her close-knit barn family she’s heading into 2025 with a bright future.
