Every year we receive reports of members and leaders of our sport receiving phishing attempts both online and by phone. These are often communications disguised as being sent from USEA staff or other leaders. As the years go on, the phishing attempts appear to be more directed and tailored.
This past year was an impressive year of growth for ShowConnect, the innovative event management system for equestrian events. Not only were many updates made by the development team to further enhance the user experience, but many events adopted the platform as their event management system for the year with immense success. The USEA office will close at 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, and will reopen again on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. The USEA staff will return emails and phone calls when the office re-opens on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025 or at their earliest convenience.
When her daughter, Meg Pellegrini, showed a very early interest in horses, Molly Pellegrini took a deep dive into a world she knew nothing about: the world of equestrian sports.
The USEA Office will be closing at 12:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, November 27, and will be closed Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday. The USEA staff will return to the office on Monday, December 2.
On the evening of Saturday, September 7, 2024, the USEA, Inc. and, by extension, the USEA Foundation, learned of allegations of equine abuse and were provided links to videos of a rider striking a horse.
The United States Eventing Association (USEA) Board of Governors (BOG) met virtually on the evening of Jan. 16 for the first BOG meeting of the new year. While the agenda featured a variety of old and new business topics to discuss, the majority of the meeting time was spent reviewing rule change proposals that were originally presented during the 2023 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention in December. A rule change proposal feedback portal was open for USEA members to share their thoughts on each of the discussed proposals, and member feedback was taken into account when discussing each of the proposals.

The 2023 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention came to a close on Sunday with the final USEA Board of Governors meeting. After the call to order, USEA Senior Director of Membership Services/Meeting Planner Jennifer Hardwick gave a brief overview of the annual meeting. There were 321 attendees and 220 who came to the awards dinner. Next year’s Annual Meeting & Convention will be held in Seattle, Washington, from Dec. 10-15 at the Westin Seattle.
