The Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team has announced a combination substitution for the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ The Netherlands hosted at the Military Boekelo, CCIO4*-L in Enschede, the Netherlands from October 10-13.
Following a hugely successful debut in June 2019 at the Bromont Three-Day Event, the MARS Bromont Rising Program will be offered at the Ocala Jockey Club International Three-Day Event, November 14-17, 2019.
The inaugural Blue Ridge Mountain Horse Trials (BRMHT) at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) concluded Sunday, following two days of national-level eventing competition at the venue. The event marked the first time competitors of all lower levels were welcomed to test the White Oak cross-country course, the same to host cross-country competition during the FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon 2018 (WEG).
The stage is set this week for the most exciting running of the SsangYong Blenheim Palace Horse Trials to date on September 19-22, 2019. All of the British eventing scene’s top riders, plus many from around the world, are preparing to tackle one of the UK’s most prestigious and popular horse trials, where the newly launched SsangYong Korando SUV will also star, in the unparalleled surroundings of the Blenheim Palace estate in Oxfordshire.
The Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International Three-Day Event (FHI) will host the U.S. Equestrian CCI4*-L and CCI3*-L Fall Eventing Championships along with the USEA Young Event Horse East Coast Championships presented by Dubarry, October 17-20 at the Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area. The Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International will award $50,000 in prize money.
Virginia Horse Trials International (VHT) is pleased to announce that it will host the first CCI*-L in the United States at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington October 31-November 3, 2019. The CCI*-L is the Modified (3’5”) level run under the international long format rules, with show jumping being the final phase run in reverse order of standing. VHT is currently the only event in the country to offer the CCI*-L.
The 12th annual Plantation Field International Horse Trials and Country Fair will take place September 19-22 at the historic Plantation Field in the horse country of Unionville. This year organizers are teaming up with Taylor Harris Insurance Services, Victory Brewing Company, and the Chester County Food Bank as well as numerous members of the Unionville and Kennett Square communities to bring spectators a classic country weekend.
The cross-country test is what sets eventing apart as a sport. Horses and riders ride across the country, demonstrating “speed, endurance, and jumping ability” while negotiating obstacles including banks, ditches, and water. Penalties accrued during this phase are added to the penalty score carried forward from dressage.
Entries for the Woodside International Horse Trials, October 4-6, are filling fast as the September 17 deadline nears. Contenders from Intro to CCI4*-S will converge in one of the West Coast’s horsiest havens, The Horse Park at Woodside, for top competition at a super venue and to socialize during Friday and Saturday ringside dinners at the Grand Prix Arena.
