1. Entries:
Entry fees already include a $25 non-refundable office fee. If competitior gives email address on entry form, notification of receipt of entry will be sent. Refunds: Before 9:00 p.m. on 5/26/09 C.D., please notify the secretary (by mail or email, no voicemail will be accepted) for a refund less $25 non-refundable office fee After 9:00 p.m. on 5/26/09 C.D.: No refund! All withdrawals will not be honored unless given in writing (email or mail only) before 9:00 p.m. on 5/26/09 C.D.
Neg. Coggins within 12 months required for all horses. Original Coggins paper is required at event. State of MO requires out-of-state horses to have a current health certificate.
2. Tentative Schedule:
Friday 6/12/09: Stables open - 1 p.m., Cross-country course opens - 3 p.m. Saturday 6/13/09: Dressage: 7:30 am; Cross-country: 9 am Sunday 6/14/09: Show Jumping and Awards Ceremony: 9 a.m.
3. Awards:
8 ribbons per division, great prizes 1st - 3rd place! Pony Club Low Score Trophy (Active and Graduate) donated by the Harwood Family.
4. Starting Times:
Available June 8 on our website, qpee.org. No cards will be sent.
5. Stabling/Veterinarian:
$140/Stall from 1 p.m. Friday 6/12/09 to Monday 6/15/09 a.m. $90/Tack Stall (No shavings), 100 temporary stalls on grounds. A $40 grounds fee ("jump out") for those not stabling. Stall doors/one bag of initial bedding (shavings) only provided. Please preorder more shavings with your entry for $7/bag - shavings will not be available for purchase at the event. A certificate for your extra ordered shavings will be in your packet and may be picked up upon arrival at the event. Veterinarian: TBA, # available from secretary and posted on the stabling chart (s). Farrier: on site, # available from secretary and posted on the stabling chart(s).
6. Accommodations:
Official Show Hotel: Drury Inn Southwest, 15 min. from Queeny Park 636-861-8300, 5 Lambert Drury Pl. St. Louis, MO. 63088 (I-44 & 141). Mention QPEE to get a special rate; free cold breakfast beginning at 6:30 a.m. included! Camping: Not permitted.
7. Directions:

NOTICE TO ALL COMPETITORS AND PARTICIPANTS: All lanes of highway I-64/US40 between Ballas Road and I-170 are closed, in both directions. For information, detours and maps, please visit The New I-64 website (http://www.thenewi64.org/) for planning information. From I-70: To the Weidman Road Entrance: I-270 South to Manchester Road; west on Manchester Road for 2.5 miles; make a right turn at light onto Weidman Road for .5 mile; Queeny Park entrance is on the right - follow signs to trailer parking. From I-44: To the Weidman Road Entrance: I-270 North to Manchester Road; west on Manchester Road for 2.5 miles; make a right turn at light onto Weidman Road for .5 mile; Queeny Park entrance is on the right - follow signs to trailer parking. From Illinois or Kentucky: To the Weidman Road Entrance: I-55 or I-255 to I-270 North to Manchester Road; west on Manchester Road for 2.5 miles; make a right turn at light onto Weidman Road for .5 mile; Queeny Park entrance is on the right - follow signs to trailer parking. 8. Dressage:
All tests will be ridden in a small arena on grass. Test & arena sizes: P - 2006 USEF Preliminary Test B. T - 2006 USEF Training Test B. N - 2006 USEF Novice Test B. BN - 2006 USEF Beginner Novice Test B. SN - 2006 USEF Beginner Novice Test A.
9. Cross-Country:
P - 2800 m @ 520 mpm, T - 2400 m @ 450, N - 2000 m @ 375 mpm, BN - 1700 m @ 350 mpm/max fence height 2'7", SN - 1383 m @ 275 mpm / max fence height 2'. A water jump will be included on the N course, and a ditch will be included on the BN course. All courses: Friendly, rolling, easy-galloping, confidence-building courses, good for an inviting season opener or soft move-up, and makes a great AEC qualifier! All tracks are less than a year old for P - BN, with Start and Finish convenient to each other!

Please contact the sec'y, Ann Begemann, at begemann_ann@sbcglobal.net or at (314) 614-0686 Concession stand on grounds all day Saturday and Sunday - free morning coffee under the tent! Dogs must be leashed under St. Louis County Park Ordinances! Park Rangers will be there to enforce rule!! Beginning this year, all three venues will be grouped near each other in the XC "area" of Queeny Park. The three venues are all approximately a one-mile hack, or 15 minute walk on foot from the stabling area. Please incorporate this time and distance into your planning for warm-up and start times, and stay on paths marked for horses! Medical card/armband, ASTM/SEI helmets, and safety vests for cross-country, required at all levels. St. Louis County Parks prohibits personally owned motorized or battery-powered vehicles within Queeny Park (trails and cross-country course). QPEE will provided ample shuttles Saturday and Sunday from the stabling/tent area to the dressage, cross-country and stadium jumping venues. |
