Ashley Stout (2006-2019)

Memorial information for Ashley Stout, who died in a cross-country schooling accident on Thursday, has been released. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., on Monday, July 15, 2019, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College, Pa.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 867 Grays Woods Boulevard, State College, Pa. with the Reverend Charles M. Amershek, Jr. officiating. In honor of Ashley, all fellow riders are encouraged to wear formal competition attire (sans helmet) to the services.

The USEA Area II Young Rider program is promoting the use of the hashtag #ride4Ashley in her memory. Riders at the upcoming North American Youth Championships will be wearing lapel ribbons imprinted with #ride4Ashley and she will be remembered during the Welcome Ceremony.

Born on January 15, 2006, in State College, Ashley was the daughter of Craig and Susan D. Moscone Stout of Port Matilda.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Alex C. Stout of Port Matilda, her paternal grandparents, Cyrus (deceased) & Kathleen Stout, of Scranton, Pa; maternal grandparents, Ken & Kitty Moscone, of Sarasota, Fla. In addition, Ashley has a paternal sibling, Ty Cerino of Wilmington, N.C., and many aunts & uncles she loved dearly; Jan Moscone, Kim and Jim Kramer, Kelly and Mike Radzicki, Chris and Tammy Stout, Charlie and Sarah Stout, Karen and Joe Beveridge, Brian and Kathy Noviskis, Kenny and Sheila Moscone, and too many cousins to list.

Martin Comes Close, But Jung Strengthens His Lead at Defender Kentucky CCI5*-L

“I really love riding the horses,” said Michael Jung. “I do it every day— riding the horses, training the horses, going to many, many competitions. I am really into the sport and with horses. I know it can go wrong all the time. So I try to go out, do my best, take care of the horse; if it went wrong, OK. It can happen, now you just be prepared for the next day.”

What Happened Where? 2025 Defender Kentucky CCI5*-L Cross-Country Rewind

The time was tough to make in the Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S this morning at the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event, and cross-country course designer Derek di Grazia made it just as tough in the CCI5*-L as well with just one rider making the optimum time of 11 minutes and 20 seconds—and somehow managing to do it twice on both of his entries!
