The United States Eventing Association (USEA) American Eventing Championships (AEC) are sneaking up and are now just 90 days away! The AEC will be celebrating its 15th year while moving to the Colorado Horse Park in Parker, Colorado in 2018. The 2018 AEC will be run across Labor Day weekend from Thursday, August 30 to Sunday, September 2. Entries open July 17, and the closing date for entries is August 14. Visit the Omnibus listing here.

The AEC will make history as it celebrates its 15th year while moving to the Colorado Horse Park in Parker, Colorado in 2018. This will be the third and final year of the three-year AEC term with the Bellissimo family managed properties of the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) and the Colorado Horse Park (CHP).
As the incoming chair of the Professional Horseman’s Council, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and the Council and talk about what some of our goals are for the upcoming season.
The Colorado Horse Park (CHP) in Parker, Colorado (Area IX) hosts three USEA recognized events per year. In June CHP hosts CCI*/2* and CIC2* divisions as well as horse trials, and Advanced Trials in August. CHP is also the host of the Area IX leg of the Charles Owen Technical Merit series.
Of the twenty-four riders that competed in the Training divisions at the Colorado Horse Trials in Parker, Colorado, September 15-17, 2017, junior rider Emily Ashburn and adult amateur Ellie Brown demonstrated superior cross-country skill and were awarded the Charles Owen Technical Award. Sue Smithson, member of the Ground Jury at Colorado Horse Trials, was the judge for the Area IX leg of the award.
