Rebecca Broussard International and National Developing Riders' Grants
2021 will be the last year the Rebecca Broussard International and National Developing Riders’ Grants will be offered. The committee would like to thank Jerome Broussard and the entire Broussard family for supporting these valuable grants for so many years.
Interviews for this year’s International and National Developing Rider’s Grants will be held at The Event at Rebecca Farm and will be limited to riders entered in both the CCI4*-L and the CCI4*-S. For those riders entered, please sign up for your interview at the show office upon arrival. Interviews will take place Tuesday through Thursday before your dressage tests.
Unlike previous years, stipends to assist with travel to the event are not being made available in 2021.
As of this date, 18 riders have benefited from these incredibly generous grants, and this year will see that number rise to 20. Recipients have made their mark at the highest levels of the sport with many going on to compete internationally. Many could be seen in action at the Kentucky Three-day Event 5* this year, and we congratulate all of them for their achievements.
While the developing rider grants are coming to an end, the Broussard family has asked the committee to explore other exciting grant opportunities for the coming years, so please keep an eye out for these to be announced.
The entire sport and our riders have benefited immensely from the kindness shown by the late Rebecca Broussard and her husband Jerome, as well as all the family. They have done so much to develop and grow the sport and for that, we are eternally thankful.

Martin Comes Close, But Jung Strengthens His Lead at Defender Kentucky CCI5*-L
“I really love riding the horses,” said Michael Jung. “I do it every day— riding the horses, training the horses, going to many, many competitions. I am really into the sport and with horses. I know it can go wrong all the time. So I try to go out, do my best, take care of the horse; if it went wrong, OK. It can happen, now you just be prepared for the next day.”

What Happened Where? 2025 Defender Kentucky CCI5*-L Cross-Country Rewind
The time was tough to make in the Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S this morning at the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event, and cross-country course designer Derek di Grazia made it just as tough in the CCI5*-L as well with just one rider making the optimum time of 11 minutes and 20 seconds—and somehow managing to do it twice on both of his entries!

What Happened Where? 2025 Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S Cross-Country Rewind
In Derek di Grazia’s CCI4*-S cross-country course this morning at the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event, there were two obvious challenges: the time and the Mighty Moguls question early on in the course at fence 4.
