2017 American Eventing Championships Summary Sheet

This sheet is intended only as a helpful tool when entering the 2017 AEC. Please consult the complete 2017 AEC Qualifications for details.

The Qualifying Period for the 2017 AEC is from May 30, 2016 thru August 21, 2017.

All riders at ALL levels must be a current (Junior, Collegiate, Full or Life) member at the time the qualifications are earned, including beginner novice.

Horses at BN, N and T must have at least a Limited Status registration and horses at Preliminary and higher must have a Full Status registration at the time qualifications are earned. 


The 2017 American Eventing Championships is not currently slated to offer the Modified level as qualifying events have not been available for the entire qualifying period. In future years, as more events begin to offer this level, the Championships will be expanded to offer the Modified level.

Beginner Novice AM

&

Beginner Novice R

Horse must be properly registered with the USEA, at the time qualifications are earned.

 

For BN-AM division, Rider must have declared Amateur status, per USEF Rules for Eventing, EV Appendix 3.4.4, and be a current USEA member at the time qualifications are earned.

Rider may not have completed competitions at the Training level or higher during the 24 months prior to the start of the competition.

 

Must have two 1st through 5th placings any USEA Recognized BN Horse Trials

OR

One 1st through 5th in any USEA BN Area Championships.

 

All qualifiers must be without cross--country jump penalties.

Beginner Novice JR

 

Horse must be properly registered with the USEA, at the time qualifications are earned.

 

 

Rider must be 18 or under per USEF Rules for Eventing, EV104.2 and be a current USEA member at the time qualifications are earned.

Rider may not have completed competitions at Training level or higher during the 24 months prior to the start of the competition

Must have two 1st through 5th placings any USEA Recognized BN Horse Trials

OR

One 1st through 5th in any USEA BN Area Championships.

 

All qualifiers must be without cross--country jump penalties.

Beginner Novice H

Horse must be properly registered with the USEA, at the time qualifications are earned.

For P-AM division, Rider must have declared Amateur status, per USEF Rules for Eventing, EV Appendix 3.4.4, and be a current USEA member at the time qualifications are earned.

Rider may not have completed competitions at the Advanced level during the 24 months prior to the start of the competition.

 

+ Once the QRs have been met, the additional H.T.s required may be at the I level.

Preliminary JR/YR

Horse must be properly registered with the USEA, at the time qualifications are earned.

 

Rider must be age 14-21 per USEF Rules EV104.2 and EV104.3.  Rider between the ages of 19 and 21 must also have declared Amateur status per USEF Rules for Eventing, EV Appendix 3.4.4, and be a current USEA member at the time the qualifications are earned.  

Rider may not have completed competitions at the Advanced level during the 24 months prior to the start of the competition. + Once the QRs have been met, the additional H.T.s required may be at the I level.

3rd in two USEA recognized P Horse Trials

Further, to the above QR: Horse & rider (not necessarily together) must have completed a total of 3 USEA recognized P H.T.s, without x-c jump penalties, during the qualifying period. Any of these 3 required completions can include the competition(s) used as Qualifying Results.

Preliminary H

Horse must be properly registered with the USEA, at the time qualifications are earned.  The highest level the horse may have completed during the qualifying period is Intermediate.

 

Rider must be a current USEA member at the time qualifications are earned.

 

Completed competitions, without cross-country jump penalties, a minimum of two in any combination of the following:

 - USEA recognized P Horse Trials (including Area Championships)

 - CIC*
-  CCI*

Intermediate

Horse must be properly registered with the USEA, at the time qualifications are earned.

 

Rider must be a current USEA member at the time qualifications are earned.

 

Completed competitions, without cross-country penalties, a minimum of two, in any combination, of the following:

 - USEA recognized I Horse Trials (including Area Championships)

 - CIC**

 - CCI**

Advanced
Adequan USEA Gold Cup Final

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Horse must be properly registered with the USEA, at the time qualifications are earned.

 

Rider must be a current USEA member at the time qualifications are earned.

 

Only the rider must complete at least one out of the 11 Gold Cup qualifiers, with no more than 20 cross-country jump penalties.
