USEA Welcomes Back Retired Racehorse Project as Sponsor for the 2025 American Eventing Championships

By Abigail Fulmer - USEA Staff | Press Release | July 11, 2025

The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is proud to announce a renewed partnership with the Retired Racehorse Project (RRP), which will once again support the USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC) as a Bronze Sponsor.

The 2025 USEA American Eventing Championships takes place Aug. 27-31 at Galway Downs in Temecula, California. Retired Racehorse Project will support the Thoroughbred presence at the AEC through sponsored RRP-branded gift certificates for select prize packages. This collaboration highlights a shared commitment to celebrating thoroughbred athletes as they transition into second careers in eventing.

The Retired Racehorse Project is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization committed to increasing demand for Thoroughbreds after racing by showcasing their athleticism and versatility through education, competitions, and promotional events. Best known for its annual Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium held at the Kentucky Horse Park in October, the Retired Racehorse Project empowers owners and trainers to successfully transition retired racehorses into new disciplines, including eventing, dressage, hunter/jumper, and more.

"The RRP is pleased to renew our ongoing partnership with the USEA. The Thoroughbred's stalwart influence on the sport is undeniable,” said Executive Director of the Retired Racehorse Project Kirsten Green. “It’s our pleasure to celebrate the Thoroughbreds and their riders who have reached the achievement of competing at the AECs."

“The Retired Racehorse Project plays a vital role in bridging the gap between racing and second careers for Thoroughbreds. Their mission aligns seamlessly with eventing’s celebration of heart, grit, and versatility. We are thrilled to welcome them back as a sponsor for the AEC,” said USEA CEO Rob Burk.

This collaboration also includes reciprocal partnership with the Retired Racehorse Project’s 2025 Thoroughbred Makeover on Oct. 8-11 in Lexington, Kentucky. For more information on the Retired Racehorse Project or Thoroughbred Makeover visit, therrp.com.
