It's the final day of dressage at the 2025 Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event (K3DE) and following yesterday's schedule, the final four-star pairs will get the day started before we see the remainder of the five-star field later this afternoon.
Phillip Dutton and Denim took the overnight lead in the Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S and have set the mark to beat with a score of 25.6. Read Thursday's full CCI4*-S recap here.
Our first rider this Friday morning will be Savannah "Woodge" Fulton riding Nelson Warnell's 10-year-old Holsteiner gelding Cash Point (CashandCarry x Up to Date 15) at 8:00 a.m. EST. Tamie Smith will be the final rider to contest the dressage phase riding Kynan, a 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding (Envoy x Danieta) owned by The Kynan Syndicate. They will make their way down the centerline at 11:45 a.m. EST.
In the five-star, to no one's surprise, Germany's Michael Jung and fischerChipmunk FRH are currently in the lead with a nearly 10-point gap between their score and the second-place pair. They lead the field on a record-breaking score of 18.6, and today's five-star lineup will aim to try and top that or at least get as close as possible. You can read our full write-up on the five-star competition that took place yesterday here.
Starting at 1:00 p.m. EST, we will see the remaining 17 five-star pairs complete their tests, led by U.S. pair Boyd Martin and Luke 140 (Landos x Omega VI), the 14-year-old Holsteiner gelding owned by the Luke 140 Syndicate. Martin will also hold the honors as the last rider to go today aboard his final of three entries, Commando 3 (Connor 48 x R-Adelgunde), a 12-year-old Holsteiner gelding owned by Yankee Creek Ranch LLC, at 3:34 p.m. ET.
