Now on Course: A Dream Comes True at the Waredaca Three-Day

Twelve-year-old Izzy Lenk has been riding since she was just 1 year old. At 2 years old, her mother signed her up for her very first riding lessons. “I’ve loved horses all my life,” Lenk explained. “We came across Waredaca when I was 5 years old, and that’s when my love for eventing began.”

Klugman and Leuenberger Take Only USEA Classic Series Titles of 2020 at Waredaca Three-Day

Waredaca in Laytonsville, Maryland hosted this year’s only USEA Classic Series Three-Day Event on October 22-25, 2020, offering Training Three-Day and Novice Three-Day divisions. The event drew a total of 45 entries – 18 in the Training Three-Day and 27 in the Novice Three-Day. Both divisions were led wire-to-wire by the ultimate winners – Ema Klugman and RF Redfern in the Training Three-Day and Jamie Leuenberger and Flight of Fancy in the Novice Three-Day.

USEA Events A-Z: Waredaca Horse Trials

Waredaca Farm in Laytonsville, Maryland (Area II) hosts three horse trials each year: one in May, one in August, and one in October. In May and August, Waredaca offers Beginner Novice through Intermediate horse trials and Future Event Horse (FEH) and Young Event Horse (YEH) classes. In October they host Beginner Novice through Preliminary horse trials and USEA Classic Series Novice, Training, and Preliminary Three-Day Events.

Tincher and Feaga Find Success at the Waredaca Hylofit USEA Classic Series Three-Day

Waredaca first began offering a Classic Series Three-Day competition in 2004 and is one of the longest running Classic Series Three-Day Events on the calendar. The Hylofit USEA Classic Series Three-Day allows horses and riders to experience the thrill of roads and tracks, steeplechase, and cross-country like the endurance days of old.

Weather, Wind, and Three Wins at the Waredaca Three-Day Event

With dark skies and dropping temperatures on October 25-28, the weekend of the Hylofit USEA Classic Three-Day Event at Waredaca brought a mix of weather elements for competitors. Amidst the cold spitting rain in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Alice Roosevelt, Caitlin O’Roark, and Cami Pease didn’t let the weather dampen their spirits as they all took home bright blue ribbons.
