Classic Series Riders, Apply Now for the Jimmy Wofford Legacy Fund Scholarship
The Waredaca Eventing Education Foundation (WEEF) presents the Jimmy Wofford Legacy Fund Scholarship, a nation-wide opportunity for financial support to pursue Classic Three-Day Events at each venue in the U.S.! Thanks to the generosity of WEEF supporters and the organizers of each Classic Three-Day Event this year, recipients receive one free entry to compete and $1,000 towards training, travel, or associated costs.
All remaining scholarships for the participating Three-Days have an application deadline of Aug. 1.
“This scholarship will help me continue to chase my dreams: not just as an eventer, but as someone who wants to advocate for the health and welfare of sport horses at the highest levels," said Nicole Carlone, who will be heading to Rebecca Farm in Kalispell, Montana, this week.
Arianah Romero received a scholarship to compete in the Summer Coconino H.T. and finished sixth in the Novice Three-Day. “This opportunity not only supports my passion for eventing but will allow me to continue to broaden my knowledge as a rider and horsewoman," she said.
“I am truly honored and deeply grateful to be awarded this scholarship," said Zara Bewley, who finished third in the Training Three-Day at the IEA Horse Trials in May. "This scholarship [helped] with extra lessons and cross-country schooling as we [worked] toward IEA."
With about half of the Classic Three-Days completed, and four more to go this year, now’s the time to get applications in before Aug. 1!
Eligible applicants must:
- be a registered USEA/USEF Adult Amateur or Junior/Young Rider member
- be working towards competing in a 2025 Classic Three-Day Event
- be competing at the Beginner Novice level or higher
- be in need of financial support to achieve the goal of competing in a Classic Three-Day Event
- have demonstrated their commitment and dedication to the sport of eventing through volunteering
- not already be participating in, or have participated in, any other USEA/USEF grant or development program
- include one letter of reference with their application
