Young Event Horse and Future Event Horse Classes – April 12, 2013
The Ocala Horse Properties International 3-Day Event is still accepting entries for the Young Event Horse and Future Event Horse Classes to be held April 12 at Meredyth South, Ocala, Florida.
This a great opportunity to get your young ones out and about and to gain some experience off the farm. Judges for the Future Event Horse Classes will be focusing attention on type, suitability for upper level competition, and conformation. They will be looking for a clean, well brushed youngster with well-maintained feet, but please do not worry if your youngsters mane is unsuitable for braiding, or his tail has been nibbled. Judges understand the various stages of development and the antics these babies get up to in fields. We just want to see them having a good, safe learning experience and to see what talented future event horses you have been busy producing. Just a reminder, yearlings may be shown in a good leather halter, two-year-olds must be wearing a bridle. If you want the result to count for the final championships at the end of the season please register your horse with the USEA and provide us with as much information about his/her breed, pedigree and breeder as possible.
And remember, this early in the season the horses in the Young Event Horse classes will only be asked to jump beginner novice level fences for four-year-olds and novice level fences for five-year-olds to give them a safe and educational start to the year.
