Volunteer Achievement Program (VAP)
Welcome to the USEA Volunteer Achievement Program (VAP). The VAP was created by the USEA Volunteer Committee to recognize volunteers for their education, experience, responsibility, and commitment in different volunteer positions offered at USEA Recognized Events.
All volunteers that utilize the Eventing Volunteers App or EventingVolunteers.com are eligible to participate in the VAP. Participation by any volunteer is entirely voluntary, and VAP qualifications are not required to volunteer at an event. Volunteers can earn virtual badges for eligible shifts in any order, and volunteer hours and shifts count for up to five (5) years after the time of service.
There are several steps required to earn a VAP Badge. To get started, volunteers should view the volunteer video and read the guidelines for the position. Then, volunteers will need to take the assessment for the position and work one or more shifts in the position at a USEA Recognized Event. Once these steps are completed, you can request a recommendation from the Volunteer Coordinator of the event you volunteered at. At least one (1) recommendation will be required to earn a VAP Badge. Keep reading for the full program requirements.

Each assessment will have 5 multiple-choice questions. A passing score requires 4 out of 5 questions answered correctly.
Quiz questions will highlight the main objectives that the volunteer will need to accomplish during their shift for each position. The questions are to affirm and demonstrate the volunteer understands the overall goal of their position to help the show run efficiently and effectively.
Assessment questions will be based on the content in the volunteer videos and volunteer guidelines.
Badge Application Process
- The volunteer views the volunteer video and reads the guidelines for the shift.
- The volunteer takes the assessment for the shift.
- The volunteer works the shift at one or more USEA recognized competitions.
- When the volunteer meets the minimum badge requirements for the shift, they can apply for the badge directly from the EV.com app.
- The Volunteer Coordinator(s) or Organizer(s) for each competition where the volunteer worked will be asked to approve the volunteer’s application for the badge for the shift.
- Once the volunteer is approved, the badge will be added to the shift for that volunteer in the Eventing Volunteers app.
