USEF Announces Rebecca Farm as Proposed Location for 2017 FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championship Discipline of Eventing

By USEF - Press Release | November 18, 2016

Lexington, Ky. - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is pleased to announce Rebecca Farm in Kalispell, Mont., as the proposed location for the 2017 FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC) to host the discipline of eventing, pending approval from the FEI. The event will be held July 20-23, 2017.

This follows last week’s announcement that HITS-on-the-Hudson is the proposed location for the 2017 NAJYRC disciplines of dressage, jumping and para-dressage, which is also still pending approval from the FEI.

“We are excited about this proposal to host the NAJYRC Eventing competition at Rebecca Farm in 2017. The event will provide an amazing atmosphere to showcase the skill of our top young eventers. The Broussard family and all of those involved with The Event at Rebecca Farm will undoubtedly make this an experience to remember. We trust that the FEI will support this fantastic opportunity, and we hope that in the future all of the equestrian disciplines of the NAJYRC are able to reunite," commented USEA CEO Rob Burk.

After reviewing the applications received and working alongside possible organizers, the USEF will not submit a proposal to hold endurance as part of the 2017 NAJYRC as there was not a feasible option. Addressing the challenges of hosting the discipline this year, alternative opportunities will be explored for youth endurance athletes in 2017.
