Launch of USEF Helmet Safety Fund to Support Virginia Tech Helmet Lab

US Equestrian is pleased to announce the kick-off of the USEF Helmet Research Safety Fund, a fundraising effort to further the safety of equestrian athletes across all breeds and disciplines. The fund will support further research into U.S. helmet safety standards and the creation of an equestrian-specific rating system, providing riders insight into how helmet models compare when looking at safety and protection.

Applications Open August 3 for Adequan® USEF Futures Team Challenge

Applications for the 2020 Adequan® USEF Futures Team Challenge are open beginning on August 3. The Futures Team Challenge, part of USEF’s Eventing Pathway Program, was established in 2019 to prepare future senior team athletes by providing an opportunity to experience competing as part of a team and working with the U.S. team coaches. Tom O’Mara Elected President of US Equestrian for 2021-2025 Term

The US Equestrian Board of Directors has unanimously elected Tom O’Mara as the organization’s new president with his term beginning in January 2021. The election took place as part of the Mid-Year BOD Meeting on June 22 and 23, which was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. O’Mara will take office at the 2021 US Equestrian Annual Meeting, currently scheduled for January 12-17, in Austin, Texas.

USEF and USEA Suspension of Competitions Extended Through May 31, 2020

US Equestrian (USEF) has announced today that they will be extending the suspension of all USEF events through May 31, 2020. The United States Eventing Association (USEA) Board of Governors voted to follow suit and all USEA recognized events and educational activities are suspended through May 31, 2020.

2020 Adequan North American Youth Championships for Eventing Canceled

Following the cancellation of key qualifying competitions due to COVID-19, the US Equestrian Board of Directors has unanimously approved a resolution to cancel the 2020 Adequan North American Youth Championships (NAYC) for Eventing CCIJ2*-L and CCIOY3*-S, which had been scheduled for July 23-26 at Rebecca Farm in Kalispell, Montana.
