With the threat of stormy weather behind them, competitors at The Dutta Corp. Tryon International Three-Day Event enjoyed a calm and mild day as the cross-country and show jumping phases got underway on Saturday, November 12, 2022.
Following a review of Area VI community feedback, modifications to the 2023-2027 U.S. Eventing Calendar were recommended by the Eventing Strategic Calendar Task Force to the Eventing Sport Committee, who in turn recommended the modifications to an Ad Hoc of the Board of Directors. Due to hardships demonstrated for qualification under the current structure and criteria, and to limit the travel to achieve those qualifications in the interest of horse welfare, the following modifications were approved to offer the best preparation for high-performance athlete and horses.
US Equestrian opened a bid process for one event to host the Advanced level in Area 3 on Week 10 for 2023-2027 due to an event cancellation. The bid process was conducted in accordance with the 2023-2027 U.S. Eventing Calendar CCI4*-L, CCI4*-S, CCI3*-L, & Advanced Policies and Procedures. The USEF Eventing Strategic Calendar Review Task Force made recommendations to the USEF Eventing Sport Committee who made recommendations for final approval by the USEF Board of Directors.
The dressage phase concluded on Friday for The Dutta Corp. USEF CCI4*-L Eventing National Championship and USEF Eventing Young Rider Championship presented by USEA (YRC). Competition at The Dutta Corp. Tryon International Three-Day Event ran under a revised schedule due to projected rainfall amounts, with the jumping and cross-country phases reorganized to ensure safe footing conditions. Dressage went ahead as planned, however, and competitors have good weather to look forward to over the next two days.

A bid process opened on Thursday, October 20 for Week 10 of the 2023-2027 U.S. Eventing Calendar. This week is vacant on the calendar due to an event cancellation. The criteria is for one event to host the Advanced level in Area III on Week 10 for 2023-2027.
US Equestrian (USEF) announces the appointment of Graeme Thom as Director of FEI/High-Performance Sport Programs beginning October 3, 2022. This start date will allow for a smooth and collaborative transition as Will Connell remains with USEF through the 25th of November.
The Land Rover U.S. Eventing Squad along with alternate and reserve combinations completed their mandatory outing this weekend at MARS Great Meadow International as their final prep event before September’s 2022 FEI Eventing World Championships in Pratoni del Vivaro, Italy.
US Equestrian is seeking applications of employment for their Sport Programs Assistant position.
US Equestrian announced the four combinations selected to represent the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team at the FEI Eventing Nations Cup Canada CCIO4*-S, three of which are graduates of the USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) program. Competition will take place from August 18-21, 2022, at Bromont Horse Park in Quebec, Canada. The team will be led by Chef d’Equipe Leslie Law.
Following the conclusion of the Eventing Elite Program Task Force, appointed by the US Equestrian President, US Equestrian is pleased to release the job description and begin the recruitment process for the Eventing Technical Advisor and Chef d’Equipe. This individual will lead High Performance Eventing and specifically the Elite Program and Team in the U.S. to sustained success at World Championship and Olympic Games level. The Federation endeavors to partner with a leader who will drive strategic direction in the Eventing Elite Program and foster strong communication and team culture.
