Three Americans in Top 14 After Boekelo Cross-Country!

The young group of U.S. horses and riders rose to the challenge today at the Boekelo CCI3* with three of the four riders who made the long trek to the Netherlands, finishing the cross-country phase in the top 14. This is a huge accomplishment as this international event had over 100 entries and included such famed riders as recent World Champion Michael Jung, Mark Todd, Mary King, Clayton Fredericks, Oliver Townend, and many more European stars. What an excellent representation of the bright future of U.S. Eventing! Live Scores
Tiana Coudray with Jatiel Inc.’s 9-year-old Irish Sport Horse Ringwood Magister (Master Imp x Clonkeen View) are the highest placed pair, adding just 7.6 time penalties to their dressage score of 46.2 to sit in 7th place heading into show jumping tomorrow. Will Faudree and Andromaque, a 9-year-old Thoroughbred mare (Anshan x Gortnagale), owned by Jennifer Mosing, are next highest. They moved up 38 spots to take over 13th, after posting a brilliant double-clear round, adding nothing to their overnight score of 57.0.
Manoir de Carneville was foot-perfect for Sinead Halpin, moving up 25 places to take over 14th, right behind Will. Carraig LLC’s 10-year-old Selle Francais gelding (Gaub x Carneville) added only 1.6 time penalties to their dressage score of 55.4. Keep up with Sinead and “Tate”: http://sineadchalpin.blogspot.com/
Doug Payne and Running Order didn’t have as solid a performance as the other three, after picking up two stops at the very challenging water complex early on course. However, Doug explains in his blog that after completing that combination (which proved difficult for other riders as well), they rocked the rest of the cross-country course, and the 8-year-old Thoroughbred gelding (Luso x Ellen Gail), owned by Stone Hill Farm, finished confident and full of running. “In most cases I'd be very upset, but just got better and better through the course. I can't tell you how excited I am about our future.” Read more about Doug' & “RO” here: http://www.dpequestrian.com/news/
