Gear up for another busy day at the MARS Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill presented by Brown Advisory as both the CCI3*-L and CCI5*-L fields finish their first phase and the USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) East Coast Championships presented by Dubarry of Ireland draw to a close.

After crowning Arielle Aharoni and Alice Tarjan's MBF Mirror Image as queen of the 4-year-old YEH East Coast Championship yesterday, the 5-year-old field will show off their jumping skills today as their final test. Competition will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the awards for the 5-year-old championship are tentatively set for 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. Be sure to head down to the Timber Field to cheer on these talented young horses!

With first day of dressage done and dusted, the remaining competitors in the three-star and five-star fields will get a chance to show off their fanciest footwork today before moving onto cross-country tomorrow.

Olivia Dutton and Jewelent are leading the CCI3*-L on a score of 28.1 after the conclusion of the first day, but with 26 horse and rider pairs left to go, there is still room for some shuffling of the leaderboard. Alyssa Phillips and Rockett 19 (Rock Forever x Dery A Mona), a 10-year-old Holsteiner gelding whom she co-owns with Julie Phillips, will be the first to compete this morning at 9:00 a.m.

Meanwhile in the five-star, Boyd Martin and Luke 140 snagged the early lead. We will see the remaining 11 competitors perform their test today, led by the Australian pair Sophia Hill and the 14-year-old Thorougbhred gelding Humble Glory (Bernardini x Sharpen), owned by Sophia and Andrew Hill and Ted and Michelle Landy. Five-star competition starts at 2:00 p.m. today.
