The 2024 USEA Intercollegiate & Interscholastic Eventing Championships were an incredible success, marking a new era of partnership for the two programs which aim to encourage the USEA’s junior and young adult members to continue to pursue their passion for eventing throughout their educational years and beyond.
The spirit of eventing was strong during the opening ceremonies on Friday afternoon at the 2024 USEA Intercollegiate and Interscholastic Eventing Championships. Just shy of 200 Intercollegiate and Interscholastic competitors lined up in the main arena at this year's host venue, Stable View in Aiken, South Carolina, while chanting fight songs, waving team flags, donning mascot costumes, and more, all in celebration of this year's championships officially getting under way.
The "happiest horse trial on Earth" is set to kick off tomorrow, Friday, May 3, at Stable View in Aiken, South Carolina, where 18 colleges and universities and eight Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) Clubs will parade their teams through the main arena to mark the official start of the 2024 USEA Intercollegiate & Interscholastic Eventing Championships!
The inaugural USEA Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) Championship at Stable View in Aiken, South Carolina, is just over a week away, which means it is time to meet the teams that are set to compete! A total of 42 competitors representing eight IEL Clubs will make up the 12 teams that are set to compete in the 2024 USEA IEL Championship on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5.
The USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championship has always been a fan-favorite amongst USEA staff and members alike, but this year the year-end showdown which was dubbed the "happiest horse trial on earth" by a USEA staff member is getting bigger and better with the addition of the inaugural USEA Interscholastic Eventing League Championship.
The 2024 USEA Intercollegiate and Interscholastic Eventing Championships are fast approaching, and time is running out for program members to secure their spot at this epic event. For the first time, the Intercollegiate and inaugural IEL Championships will be hosted on the same weekend at the Stable View Local Charities H.T. in Aiken, South Carolina, on May 4-5, and the organizers are pulling out every stop to make this an unforgettable experience for all involved! The event has a maximum capacity of 400 entries, so don’t wait to add your name to the list of confirmed competitors.
Central Arkansas may not be the largest eventing hub in Area 5, but the team members that make up one of the newest USEA Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) teams, Team Bradley Equestrian, put in the effort necessary to pursue their eventing goals. Spearheaded by coach Shelby Bradley, the team is made up of young riders from both Bradley’s program at Fletcher Farms Arkansas in Cabot, Arkansas, and her mother, Paula Binz’s, training program at Pinnacle Valley Farm in Little Rock.
The coveted Spirit Award, which originated from the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championship and quickly became as important as the competition itself, will be returning this year with double the excitement at the 2024 USEA Intercollegiate & Interscholastic Eventing Championships! With the two program championships merging for the first time, the organizing team at Stable View is committed to making the weekend an unforgettable experience for these middle school, high school, and undergraduate students. Separate Spirit Contests will be offered for each program , and Stable View has generously donated perpetual trophies for the two contest champions.
