Even More International Flavor at Plantation Field International
The 2013 Plantation Field International starts tomorrow and it promises to be better than ever. More than 280 competitors representing 9 countries are descending on Unionville, Pennsylvania this weekend for one of the most prestigious events in the country. The competition will feature three CIC divisions and three national divisions (Preliminary to Advanced).

They will both be catch riding in the CIC1* division and will lead a course walk for the 1* division, which is open to everyone.
Dressage will run in 4 rings on Friday, with all divisions starting at 8 a.m. FEI competitors will follow the CIC format with show jumping on Saturday and cross country on Sunday. Most of the national divisions will have their show jumping and cross country on Saturday. Check the full schedule on the Plantation Field website.
“We’re looking forward to an exciting weekend with top US and international competitors,” said Event Organizer Denis Glauccum. “We’ve made lots of improvements to the facility and raised over $270,000 in sponsorship. There will be something for everyone to enjoy, from the trade fair to entertainment and, of course, top-level competition.”
For this year’s competition, Plantation has invested in numerous improvements to the facility, including installing electricity and FIOS internet in key areas, including the stabling area and Secretary’s office. In addition, new Tapeta footing has been added in the warm up ring to complement the synthetic footing in the main arena.
Not only is Plantation Field an exciting international event, there are lots of activities outside of the competition to keep everyone busy. There will be a trade fair packed with great shopping, amazing food, a wine bistro and beer garden, even a Kid’s Korner with lots to keep them occupied. This year, it’s all wrapped up in a Downton Abbey theme.
