The USEA Annual Meeting & Convention Daily: Friday

Day one is a wrap and now it is on to day two! Today the real action kicks off as we have several exciting speakers lined up to present on countless informative and educational topics, as well as the continuation of several critical committee meetings, and the Area X Awards Ceremony this evening.

Friday's Outline

Hold on to your hats, today's schedule is a busy one! There are two tracks of presentations and open forums being offered today for our in-person attendees to choose from.

Track A features the following presentations and forums:

  • Pure Stretch Exercise Session
  • "Is There a Relationship Between Ridden Horse Behavior and the Performance of Event Horses" with Sue Dyson
  • Classic Three-Day Open Forum moderated by Gretchen Butts
  • "Flow State in Eventers" with Ashley Johnson
  • Membership Development and Affiliate Open Forum moderated by Janet Gunn and Liz Hoskinson
  • Volunteer Incentive Program Open Forum moderated by Bonnie Kibbie

  • Reviews of all of the new dressage tests for 2021 with Marilyn Payne
  • "Refining the 6- and 7-year-old Pathway Competitions" with Tim Holekamp and Marilyn Payne
  • Course Designers/Builders Open Forum moderated by Morgan Roswell
  • "ShowConnect - A Community Focused Event Management System" with Margaret Marcus and Robert Winter

Committees that are meeting today include the Young Rider Coordinators Training & Committee, Volunteer Incentive Program, ERAofNA Committee, Cross-Country Safety Subcommittee, Membership Committee, Equine Safety and Welfare Subcommittee, IT Advisory Committee, Cross-Country Builders/Designers Committee and Cross-Country Safety Subcommittee Joint Meeting, Rider Safety Subcommittee, Emerging Athletes 21 Task Force, ICP Committee, Adult Rider Coordinators, Eventing Course Designers/Builders Committee, Area Treasurers Committee, Organizers Committee, Area Treasurers and Area Council, Eventing Licensed Officials Committee, and the USEA Foundation.

Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event Entries Revealed

Let the countdown to the 2024 Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event officially begin! Entries for both the CCI5*-L and CCI4*-L went live today and showcase some of the world’s best horses and riders. In total, 47 pairs are entered in the five-star competition with the bulk of the entries being made up U.S. competitors with 30 entries in the field.

USEA Events A-Z: Mile High Horse Ranch Horse Trials

Eventing is on an upswing in Area IX with the addition of Mile High Horse Ranch Horse Trials in Parker, Colorado. The inaugural event will run from July 6-7 this summer. Started and organized by Mile High Horse Ranch owner Vanda Werner, the event will feature Starter through Training levels.
