Collegiate eventers can officially start gearing up for the 2026 USEA Intercollegiate Team Challenge season. Teams across the country are preparing to head to their local horse trials to sharpen their skills and build team spirit ahead of the 2026 USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championships on May 15-17, 2026 at Stable View in Aiken, South Carolina.

Established in 2014, the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program continues to support college riders by creating a competitive pathway that fits alongside academic life. What began as a small initiative has evolved into a nationwide program that brings together student-athletes from a wide range of schools and backgrounds.

So far in 2026, the program includes just under 40 Intercollegiate Team Challenges hosted across eight USEA Areas: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, and VIII. These events provide teams with valuable opportunities to compete together, develop leadership skills, and strengthen connections within the collegiate eventing community.

Teams are encouraged to review the tentative schedule of Intercollegiate Team Challenges and begin mapping out their season. As the calendar is subject to change, additional events may be added throughout the year. Students and USEA members are also welcome to reach out to local organizers to encourage them to apply to host an Intercollegiate Team Challenge. Don’t see an Intercollegiate Team Challenge near you? Contact your local USEA Horse Trial organizers to express interest and ask if they are willing to host an Intercollegiate Team Challenge at their event.

Intercollegiate team rosters are due to the USEA Senior Director of Membership Services, Jennifer Hardwick, at [email protected] by February 15, 2026. Please list all members of your intercollegiate team on this roster. Anyone interested in competing at the 2026 USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championship must be included on a team roster to be eligible.

About the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program

The USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program was established in 2014 to provide a framework within which eventing teams and individual competitors could flourish at universities and colleges across the country. Many events across the country offer Intercollegiate Team Challenges where collegiate eventers can compete individually or in teams with their fellow students. In Intercollegiate Team Challenges, each rider’s score is multiplied by a coefficient appropriate for their level to account for differences in level difficulty, and then the individual scores are added together to determine the team score. The USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championship is a capstone event for the program, which is held annually in the spring.
