The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is excited to announce the renewed partnership with the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation as a Bronze Level Sponsor of the 2021 USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC) presented by Nutrena Feeds. This year’s AEC will take place on August 31 - September 5 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky.
Dr. Stephen Reed, a veterinarian with Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital as well as an Emeritus Professor at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Kentucky, discusses equine protozoal myeloencephalitis (EPM) and cervical vertebral malformation (CVM), also known as Wobbler's Syndrome.
In this presentation, Dr. Anthony Blikslager, Head of the Department of Clinical Sciences & Professor of Equine Surgery and Gastroenterology, and Dr. Amanda Ziegler, Research Assistant Professor in The Comparative Gastroenterology Lab, both from North Carolina State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, discuss colic and describe research in treating it.
Dr. Lauren Schnabel, an Associate Professor of Equine Orthopedic Surgery at North Carolina State University's Comparative Medicine Institute, discusses the therapeutic use of stem cells for tendon and ligament injuries. This presentation is part of the Grayson Vet Chats and is provided in partnership with the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation.
