Springer Takes the Lead at Luhmuhlen in Style

By USEA | June 18, 2010

Out of 43 riders, Allison Springer of Marshall, Virginia and her Irish Sport Horse gelding Arthur are currently in second place at the Germany-based Luhmühlen CCI4*. For the second time at a four-star event this year, Springer opted for an approved helmet instead of the usual top hat, setting a world-wide example for equestrian safety. With their fantastic score of 40.0, the experienced pair are nipping at the heels of the current leaders, Ingrid Klimke of Germany aboard FRH Butts Abraxxas (39.2). Two other Americans are also competing, Jennifer Wooten-Dafoe who scored a 55.2 with The Good Witch, and Michael Pollard who earned a 60.2. Photo courtesy of the FEI.
