Smart Move (2004-2011)

Lisa Marie Fergusson’s Welsh Cob/Thoroughbred gelding, Smart Move, was euthanized yesterday after being struck by a car in the road outside the barn in Wellington, Florida where he was training for the upcoming season reports Eventing Nation. Lisa Marie of British Columbia, Canada was hoping to represent Canada in the 2012 London Olympics with Smart Move. The pair had great success together this year including winning the Jersey Fresh CCI2* and Fair Hill International CIC2*. They also finished third at the Stuart CIC2* and fourth at the Galway Downs CCI3*.

Smart Move was originally registered as Bryn Carregwen Arthur and was bred by Bryn Carregwen Welsh Sport Horses in Langley, BC. Smartie was by Brynarian Brenin ap Maldwyn (Welsh Cob) and out of Dream Contessa (TB). Lisa Marie also owns Smartie’s full brother Bryn Carregwen Taliesin who was foaled in 2005.
