Rolex Kentucky - Dressage Day 2 (Morning)

Photo gallery from the 2nd day of dressage at the 2008 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event in Lexington, Kentucky.

Allison Springer & Arthur had a lovely test to finish in 13th with a 53.7.
Personally, I was hoping she'd take over the lead, or at least hop into the top five or so.
She had several brilliant moments to her test, and only a few bobbles here and there... not bad for Arthur's first four-star!
Arthur wasn't quite sure what to think of the huge crowd (20,000 people!)
But Allie did a wonderful job keeping his mind on task (JW Photo).
Canadian rider Sandra Donnelly had a solid ride aboard Buenos Aires. (JW Photo)
Her commendable test left her with a score of 55.6, which ended up leaving her tied for 20th.
However, many of the competitors scored in the 50's, so she still has a good chance to move up in the standings.
Corinne Ashton and her redheaded partner took the crowd by storm as they performed a stunning test.
They were the last to go in the morning, and heading into the lunch break they stood in third place with a respectable 43.5.
Unfortunately, they were bumped back down to fifth place by the end of the day. (JW Photo)
Heidi White and the gallant Northern Spy are hot on Becky & Comet's heels after they posted a 40.6 this morning.
It's hard to pick favorite photos of these guys...they're all good! (JW Photo)
These guys were definitely looking as good as ever... Heidi's been doing quite a bit of training with three-time Rolex winner Kim Severson. Guess the hard work paid off!
Northern Spy has the best ears. Flop ears are all the rage this year.
One of my favorite photos - they both look so proud and in the moment.
Hawley Bennett of California and Livingstone posted a 58.7 this morning, leaving them in 25th.
But Hawley knows that they're going to tear it up tomorrow on cross-country (JW Photo)
So, she's not going to let a disappointing dressage score stand in her way.
Hawley hails from California, but she's actually Canadian. Livingstone's 18 years old and looking great.
Poor Lynn Symansky and No It Tissant didn't have one of their better tests, but they was able to pull off a few lovely moments.
Her feisty gelding was noticeably tense and worried by the atmosphere, but Lynn kept him together as best she could.
And even took the whole ordeal like a champion. Way to go, Lynn! By the way, her guy's an amazing jumper...they'll rock around the course tomorrow!
Canadian Young Rider Waylon Roberts also didn't have as good a test as he would've liked aboard the flashy-faced Paleface. They ended up with a score of 67.0 to put them into 32nd place.
Paleface's changes were very exuberant and the crowd ooh'ed and aah'ed at how well Waylon kept the gelding's mind on track.
Sarah Hansel and The Quiet Man performed a very workmanlike test. (JW Photo)
And although it wasn't the most breath-taking test of the weekend, it was certainly admirable.
The dark gelding lived up to his name and took his first four-star in stride, and exuded a sense of calm dignity.
The Lone Brit, Polly Stockton, posted a 52.2 aboard Charles Owen Tangleman to leave them in 9th place after today.
The pair performed a lovely test and received a great many cheers from the Brit fans.
Tangleman was all business as he strode across the ring purposefully... places to go, things to do! No dilly dallying for him!
I was expecting great things from Kim Severson and Tipperary Liadhnan.
Kim was the first to go today, and although their test was quite nice, it only earned them a score of 54.6, leaving them in 16th place.
After today, I don't foresee a fourth Rolex win for Kim this year... but who knows! (JW Photo)
Don't you just want to pinch his little cheeks? What a ham!
