Rebecca Broussard 1942-2010

By USEA | December 25, 2010

One of the most iconic figures in US Eventing, Rebecca Broussard, passed away yesterday, December 24, at her home in Whitefish, Montana surrounded by her family. Her passing leaves a void that will never be filled and the entire eventing family mourns the loss of this exceptional woman.

Becky was passionate about horses, the sport of eventing and the people involved. An owner, an organizer, a volunteer both at events and in the governance of the USEA, Becky fulfilled many roles in a lifetime of dedication to horses and her chosen sport. She will be forever missed and can never be replaced.

Everyone at the USEA sends their deepest condolences to her husband Jerome, Becky's two daughters, Rebecca and Sarah, and her grandchildren, Lorraine, Raymond, Tommye and Zanda.

A reflection on Becky's life and her amazing contribution to the sport will appear in the next issue of Eventing USA.
