After dressage at the inaugural event of the $20,000 2011 Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series held at the Red Hills Horse Trials in Tallahassee, Florida, Phillip Dutton finessed his way into the lead aboard Isabella II, an Oldenburg mare owned by Susie Beale and Gillian King. Dutton was the last rider in the CIC3*, the designated Gold Cup division, and his and Isabella’s 43.9 nipped just ahead of Karen O’Connor & Joan Goswell’s score of 44.1.
