Middle Tennessee Pony Club to Host Young Event Horse Qualifier Sept. 7 at Historic Percy Warner Park

The Middle Tennessee Pony Club (MTPC) is proud to announce it will host a Young Event Horse (YEH) Qualifier on Sunday, September 7 at the historic Percy Warner Park in Nashville. Open to 4- and 5-year-old horses, this qualifier is part of the USEA Young Event Horse Series and serves as a stepping stone on the road to the Dutta Corp. USEA Young Event Horse Championships in October.
Entries open on July 22 and close on Aug. 19. You can access the entry for the MTPC YEH here or check out their event page here for more information. 'S' judge Lori Hoos will serve as the judge for the YEH classes, and 'r' judge Jon Wells will be serving as course designer.
This fall YEH qualifier is a new addition to the Middle Tennessee calendar and is an exciting opportunity to bring these programs into Middle Tennessee for the first time. MTPC ran a spring YEH qualifier earlier this year and is exciting to add a fall date the calendar.
MTPC proudly organizes the Middle Tennessee Pony Club Horse Trials, the longest continuously running horse trials in the United States, held each fall since 1952 (except in 2020 due to COVID). The club has been running the event since 1979 after taking the reins over from the founder of both the event and the club, Margaret Lindsley Warden. This Oct. 4-5 will be the 73rd annual running of The MTPC Horse Trials at Percy Warner Park.
Percy Warner Park and its adjoining Edwin Warner Park span more than 3,100 acres within Nashville city limits. The venue features a 34-stall permanent barn, a large all-weather arena, and established cross-country tracks with varied terrain. The Middle Tennessee Pony Club is based out of the park and serves Nashville and adjacent counties with year-round activities. These grounds are also home to the Iroquois Steeplechase, a Nashville tradition held each May since 1941.
Spectators are welcome and admission is free. Come enjoy a day of fun sport and community spirit in one of Nashville’s most scenic equestrian venues.
