Fast Facts: USEA Annual Meeting & Convention

After a one-year gap, eventers from all over are ready to gather together and engage in four days of seminars, presentations, and gatherings at the USEA Annual Meeting & Convention. This year’s convention begins Thursday morning at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque Hotel and continues through the weekend. Whether you are attending in-person or tuning in from home, we've got all the fast facts you need to know about this year's USEA Annual Meeting & Convention!

  • We anticipate to have over 200 riders, trainers, owners, and eventing enthusiasts in attendance in Albuquerque.
  • As a precursor to this year's USEA Annual Meeting & Convention, a Show Jumping Course Design Seminar with Chris Barnard takes place today. Learn more about this seminar here.
  • There are 22 educational sessions, 11 open forums, and 32 committee meetings on the schedule.
  • This year’s convention features two tracks for attendees to follow, each with their own unique content: Track A and Track B. View the whole schedule with meeting descriptions and speaker information here.
  • The USEA will be providing a livestream of select content from the 2021 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention for those who can’t attend the convention in person. Track A will be open to the public and Track B will be open for USEA members only. Click here for additional information about how to access the livestream and check out the streaming schedule here.
  • The Board of Governors will welcome convention attendees with a reception in Pavilion IV-VI of the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque Hotel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 9.
  • The keynote address at this year’s convention will feature Dr. Mark Revenaugh, renowned expert in equine medicine. Dr. Revenaugh's presentation is titled ‘Top 10 Things I have Learned as an Equine Veterinarian and Other Musings," and attendees will have the opportunity to ask Dr. Revenaugh questions following his presentation.
  • Presided over by Jim Wofford and Jim Wolf, the Year End Awards Ceremony will celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of our members during dinner on Saturday, December 11 beginning at 6:00 p.m.
  • There will be 85 awards handed out during the Year End Awards Ceremony.
  • Stop by to grab a bite to eat before your morning meetings in the Grand Liberty Foyer Thursday through Sunday from 7:30-9:00 a.m. at the continental breakfast sponsored by Rebecca Farm.

Welcome to the Show Me state and to Area IV USEA members! The 2023 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention kicks of tomorrow and features four full days of educational seminars, committee meetings, and social gatherings all with one aim—to bring the eventing community together to continue to improve upon and celebrate the sport that we all love. Young Event Horse Arden Augustus Exceeds All Expectations for Antenucci and White

Every horse who participated this year in the USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) program has a story—a background that involves a breeder who labored over bloodlines, veterinary care, initial training, and so much more. This year’s highest-placing U.S.-bred horse in the 5-year-old division at the Dutta Corp./USEA Young Event Horse Championships, Arden Augustus, is no exception. His breeder and owner, Anita Antenucci of Arden Farms in Upperville, Virginia, started her program nine years ago and said that the Warmblood gelding was a more emotionally driven breeding for her than others due to his connections with Antenucci’s long-time friend Sharon White.
