Drumroll please… After much consideration, the United States Eventing Association, Inc. (USEA) and our partners at Adams Horse Supply are proud to announce the winner of the ATC Scavenger Hunt hosted during the Adams Horse Supply USEA Adult Team Championships (ATC) at the USEA American Eventing Championships presented by Nutrena Feeds.

Northern Attitude, the Novice ATC Team hailing from the Area I Adult Rider Program, showed the most creativity and team cohesion to take the win! Members Jen Clapp, Nancy Read, Liz Kast, and Kathryn Wakeman committed to their cold-weather theme, wearing knit caps and scarves even in the 90+ degree Kentucky heat, and enjoyed completing all the tasks together, demonstrating clear unity and camaraderie. The team finished in fifth place in the Novice ATC standings.

With so many amazing submissions, Adams Horse Supply has also decided to give a shout out to one more team for their submission. This year’s honorable mention, Hi-Five Four The Win, has members hailing from Areas IV and V and competed in the Beginner Novice ATC. Amanda Rhodes, Grace Atkins, Emma Kane-Mikan, and Jennifer Enderlin sported matching t-shirts and colorful cowboy hats throughout the week as they competed towards a top-10 finish in the Beginner Novice ATC.

The Adams Horse Supply USEA Adult Team Championships is the capstone event for the USEA Adult Team Challenges hosted throughout the year in all 10 Areas. The ATC provides adults competing in the Beginner Novice through Preliminary levels with the chance to compete as a team and represent their Area in a friendly and fun environment. In order to qualify for the ATC Scavenger Hunt, teams had to complete the following five tasks at various locations around the Kentucky Horse Park and submit photos of each to the USEA Staff:

  • Thank a volunteer around the grounds and give them a high-five for their help
  • Join one of USEA’s course walks to prep for cross-country with the pros
  • Take a photo with a rider you admire, professional or amateur
  • Show an act of good horsemanship with a team horse (i.e. grooming, grazing, etc.)
  • Pick your favorite “iconic” background or monument at KHP and take a team photo
    • *BONUS: Meet the Adams Horse Supply representative at the Adult Rider Party on Thursday

Enjoy Northern Attitude and Hi-Five Four The Win’s submissions in the gallery below! Northern Attitude will receive a personalized prize pack from Adams Horse Supply and Equinavia, while Hi-Five Four the Win will receive Adams Horse Supply gift cards. Adams Horse Supply would like to thank their partners at Equinavia for joining them in providing the prize packages for the winning team! Each team member will receive an Equinavia matching saddle pad and bonnet set, set of Cool Relief Therapy Ice Wraps, and a leather halter.

Members of the winning teams should keep an eye on their email for a communication from Adams Horse Supply to collect their prizes. Congratulations to all the ATC competitors at this year’s event!

About the Adams Horse Supply USEA Adult Team Championships

The Adams Horse Supply USEA Adult Team Championships, which debuted in 2014, is the capstone event for the USEA Area Adult Team Challenges, providing adults the chance to compete as a team and represent their Area of the country in a friendly and fun environment. Historically, adult riders had three regional Team Challenges in which to compete with fellow adults in a team environment, with the locations changing each year. In 2013, the USEA Adult Rider Coordinators voted to move to support Adult Team Challenges taking place in all 10 Areas across the country, with the finale being the ATC at the USEA American Eventing Championships presented by Nutrena Feeds. Each Area can send up to eight teams from Beginner Novice through Preliminary level to the ATC. Adult Riders know how to have a good time, and there is no doubt that they bring an increased level of excitement and camaraderie to the AEC!
