Area III Takes Gold In CH-Y**, The Team From Areas VI,VII, & VIII Clinches The Top Spot In CH-J*

As the 2010 Adequan FEI North American Junior/Young Rider Championships came to a close it was Area III that pulled out all the stops to win the gold medal in the CH-Y** while in the one-star competition the combined team of Areas VI,VII,VIII got to lead the victory gallop.

CH-Y**

The girls from Area III, Emily Renfroe, Missy Miller, Danielle Dichting, and Devon Brown, added a mere three rails to their overnight scores to finish on the combined total of 217.8. In addition to the team Gold, Missy Miller aboard her own Trakehner mare, TSF Amazing Grace, earned the individual Silver medal and Danielle Dichting riding the Irish Sport Horse, Tops, took home the individual Bronze.

The team from Area VI and VII finished on 229.0 points earning the silver medal. Natalie Gumankin and Kelly Pugh from Area VI and Tessa Beckett from Area VII all jumped clean on cross-country which contributed to their top placing. Kelly Pugh riding Dayna Lynd-Pugh’s Thoroughbred/Trakehner mare, Copycat Chloe, were top placing individuals in addition to their team silver. With a gold medal around her neck and a red sash around Chloe’s Kelly had a fantastic finish at the NAJYRC.

The Bronze medal team was from Area V and IX. Jacob Fletcher and Karen Shull representing Area V and Brittany Lunney and Anisa Tracy representing Area IX all put in stellar performances to take third in the team competition.

CH-J*

Areas VI, VII, and VII combined together to create a powerhouse team which ended the competition in first. In addition to taking home the Team Gold, Kelly Loria and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds were also the individual Gold medalists while teammate Lizzie Snow and Pop Star took home the individual Bronze medal. Noelle Varga and BC Great Scot and Madison Reeb and Raquel made up the rest of the team.

The Area IV team consisting of J. Taylor Humphrey, Autumn Schweiss, Michelle Mercier, and Claire Kelley was the Silver medal winners. Claire Kelley riding the prolific Clifton Peekachu were double Silver winners as they also earned the individual Silver medal.

Rounding out the top three one-star teams was the team from British Columbia and Quebec. The Canadian team was made up of Nayla Charbonneau, Sophie Laframboise, and Katherine Martineau.
