Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series Heads To Richland Park CIC3* For Sixth Event
The Richland Park CIC3* is the next event in the exciting 2010 Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series and with 25 of some of the best riders in the US and Canada entered the competition is sure to be fierce. The competition for the three-star riders begins bright and early Thursday morning with Dressage. They then have a day off before tackling Ian Stark’s cross-country course on Saturday and Richard Jeffery’s show jump course on Sunday.
Many of the top contenders on the Adequan USEA Gold Cup Leaderboard are competing in the three-star division including Karen O’Connor and Mandiba and Hannah Sue Burnett and St. Barths who are currently sitting third and fourth respectively. A win at Richland would send either of these pairs straight to the top of the leaderboard and well on their way to becoming the keeper of the cup and the year-end $10,000 prize money. Other Gold Cup competitors include Doug Payne and Running Order who are currently tied for thirteenth, Lisa Barry and Kenzo de la Roque who sit in fifteenth, and Boyd Martin and Remmington XXV who are in the twenty-sixth spot.
Now in its sixth year, the Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series encompasses eight of the top eventing competitions from across the nation. Horse and rider combinations earn points through top-placings and clear rounds at the Gold Cup events. Their points accumulate throughout the year and the combination with the most points earns $10,000, among other fabulous prizes, awarded at the USEA Annual Meeting and Convention, which will be held this year in Scottsdale, Arizona, December 8-12.
First place winners at each event collect 200 points for victory, and can also earn 50 bonus points for double-clear cross-country rounds and 40 extra points for double-clear show jumping rounds. Complete Gold Cup Points System
