Waredaca Classic Three-Day Announces New Charity, "3-2-1, Go! End Breast Cancer"

By Carly Easton | May 6, 2016

Laytonsville, MD Waredaca’s Classic Three-Day Event and Fall Horse Trials held October 20th-23rd, 2016 is excited to announce the creation of ‘3-2-1 GO! End Breast Cancer’ in an effort to raise funds that will directly support research efforts at the Johns Hopkins Breast Center in Baltimore, Maryland. The annual Classic Three-Day Event and Fall Horse Trials are held every year during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year the team at Waredaca will be raising funds to support the creation of the Breast Cancer Quality of Care/Quality of Life Measurement Database Fund. Waredaca is proud to be hosting an event in which funds will be benefiting a wonderful cause that provides innovative, integrated, high quality, and cost-effective care to those suffering from cancer.

Waredaca’s first fundraising event will occur on Thursday, May 19th at the Waredaca Brewing Company where $1 of every pint sold plus 100% of the tips and money raised from the silent auction from this event will be donated directly to the Johns Hopkins Breast Center. The event will feature a silent auction with items such as: a lesson with Olympian, Stephen Bradley; a clinic entry at Waredaca with U.S. Eventing Team Coach, David O’Connor; an Under Armor prize pack complete with items from their new line, and much more!

This year’s Three-Day Event and Fall Horse Trials will feature exciting ways to contribute to our efforts. Although we are still in the early planning stages, we promise that this year will be an unforgettable one. Make sure to follow Waredaca on social media and regularly check the ‘3-2-1 Go! End Breast Cancer’ page on Waredaca’s website for regular announcements and updates.

About the Waredaca Classic Three-Day Event

Held at Waredaca Farm in Laytonsville, MD, this ‘one of a kind’ competition is in its 12th year at the beautiful family farm and eventing facility in the heart of Maryland's horse country. A special treat this year will be the return of the very popular international eventing rider Eric Smiley as lead clinician. He is scheduled to assist competitors during the entire event AND offer many educational opportunities for those non-participants who volunteer and are interested in the Classic format. All seminars, course walks, and talks are open to all entered riders, grooms, support crew, volunteers and so on. We are again partnering this year with the Area 2 Young Rider Advancement Program- (YRAP) expertly managed by Chris Donovan. YRAP interest in the Three-Day has grown over the past few years, providing YRAP members invaluable horsemanship experience that this type of competition requires, making the YRAP partnership an excellent fit!
