A panel of officials, including Cindy Deporter, Tim Murray, Wayne Quarles, John Michael Durr, and Marilyn Payne led a presentation at the 2018 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention about how to be a preceptor. Preceptors provide a vital part of the education process for those pursuing their eventing officials license. Being listed as a preceptor makes the official eligible to take apprentices to help them fulfill the USEF licensing requirements. Surefire Farm in Purcellville, Virginia (Area II) hosts two horse trials a year – one in late June and one in late September, offering Beginner Novice through Intermediate levels in addition to USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) classes. Surefire is a year-round training facility.
The USEA Future Event Horse (FEH) Championships are being held over the next two weeks. First, the West Coast Championships will be held at Twin Rivers Ranch in Paso Robles, California today on Thursday, September 19.
