USEA Board of Governors Votes to Waive Xentry Transfer and Handling Fee for 2014 AEC

Dulles, VA - At the USEA Board of Governors meeting August 13, 2014, the Board voted overwhelmingly to waive the transfer and handling fee associated with Xentry for the Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC), presented by VTO Saddlery. This reimbursement will also apply to the Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series Final (GCF), and the Adult Team Championships (ATC).
What does this mean for competitors entering the AEC in 2014?
Entries for the 2014 AEC/GCF/ATC opened on Tuesday August 12th. If you have already entered the event via Xentry and paid with a credit card, you will receive a reimbursement for the Xentry transfer and handling fees. The USEA began processing reimbursements today (August 14). USEA CEO Jo Whitehouse assures that refunds will be distributed as soon as possible. Additionally, all forthcoming 2014 AEC entries sumbitted and paid for via Xentry will initially be charged a transfer and handling fee but will be also be reimbursed.
“The transfer and handling fee is a standard processing fee that is charged for every use of the Xentry system," Whitehouse said. "The Board of Governors felt strongly that since the AEC/GCF/ATC are operated by the USEA it was in the interest of our members to waive this fee.”
Board member Jon Holling outlined it clearly: "One of the questions I hear regularly from my clients is about these fees. We want to promote the use of the Xentry system, and I think it only makes sense to waive this fee for our members attending the AEC.”
