Thursday Dressage Update from AEC

By USEA | September 25, 2014

Competition officially began bright and early this morning, with the first horse in the ring at 8:30. The Preliminary Horse and Training Horse competitors have completed dressage, leaving native Texan Heather Morris leading the Preliminary Horse on Charlie Tango, a six-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding (Shannondale Sarco St. Ghyvan – Our Queen Bee) owned by the Team Express Group.

There is currently a tie for the leader of Training Horse; both Beau Guimond (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) on Filibuster ST and Lisa Mendell (Flint Hill, Va.) on Teslin Bay scored a 28.2 and will battle it out for the lead on cross-country tomorrow.

Carrie A. Poloson and High Maintenance scored a 37.7 to lead the Training level USEA Adult Team Championship group.

Intermediate, Sr. Preliminary Amateur, Jr. Training, and Sr. Training Amateur are still underway, and the Adequan USEA Gold Cup Advanced division will begin at 3:00. Stay tuned for a wrap-up this evening!
