It's competition time at the MARS Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill, and there is a lot going on for the first day. We've got a full rundown on all the things you won't want to miss here.

It's a big day for competitors in the 2025 USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) East Coast Championships presented by Dubarry of Ireland. Both the 4- and 5-year-old Championships will kick off their week in the conformation and dressage phases and later in the day the 4-year-old entries will also execute their jumping and galloping portions as well to complete their championship experience. You can learn more about the Championships here.

Dressage and conformation in the YEH get underway at 8:00 a.m., and the first horse to tackle the jumping sections will start at 10:00 a.m. ClipMyHorse is live streaming all phases of the competition and you can find the live stream information here.

In the main arena, CCI3*-L dressage kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with Mia Farley and the 7-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding D.A. Nixon (Entertainer x Coco), owned by Debbie Adams, setting the tone for the competition. We will see 27 of the 53 competitions put their best foot (or hoof?) forward in the dressage ring today with the remaining executing their dressage tests on Friday morning.

Five-star actions kicks off at 2:00 p.m. and it will be five-star first timer HSH Tolan King (Tolan R x Kilmolash Clover Rhodes), owned by the Tolan King Partnership, and Caroline Pamukcu who will be first down the centerline. Only 11 of the 22 five-star pairs will dance in the sandbox today.

Here is what you need to know to follow along today:

  • You can watch the 2025 event beginning with the CCI3*-L and CCI5*-L horse inspections on Wednesday, at 1 p.m. EST with three-star and 2 p.m. with five-star via the ClipMyHorse.TV Player. Viewing is free in small player mode on both the Maryland 5 Star website and CMH.TV. Please note: The full screen viewing or app download requires a Clip My Horse subscription to watch the livestream through their site.
