With all dressage completed for the week, we can set our sights on the jumping phases for the last two days of the USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC) presented by Nutrena Feeds.

The Marshall+Sterling USEA Beginner Novice and USEA Starter Divisions will head out to tackle Jay Hambly's cross-country courses today. One of the best parts about the AEC at the Kentucky Horse Park is that the lower level divisions get the chance to gallop through the famed Head of the Lake and we cannot wait to see the smiles on the faces of these competitors as they tick off that item on their bucket list.

Over in the Rolex Arena, the USEA Novice Championships are closing out their championship weekend with show jumping. We will see six Novice divisions show jump today, which means six new AEC Champions will have their name written in the history books!

In addition to individual champions, our Adams Horse Supply USEA Adult Team Championships (ATC) will come to a close for the Novice level teams after show jumping today. The awards ceremony will take place following the awards ceremony for the USEA Novice Amateur Championship. As a reminder, in order to receive your awards, you must be present for the ceremony!

Interested in learning more about equine cardiology? USEA Educational Partner and AEC Contributing Partner Equine Internal Medicine and Diagnostics (Equine IMED) will host live equine cardiology demonstrations Thursday through Saturday at the AEC with internal medicine specialist Dr. Amy Polkes, DVM, DACVIM at 12:30 p.m. Attendees can listen to a horse’s heartbeat, watch a live cardiac ultrasound, view an equine ECG, and learn about heart murmurs, arrhythmias, and the importance of cardiac health and screening in performance horses. AEC competitors who attend a demonstration will also be entered for a chance to win a POLAR Equine heart monitor.

Adams Horse Supply USEA Adult Team Championships (ATC) competitors are encouraged to join an ATC team meetup, hosted by USEA Area VIII and IX, this afternoon from 4:30 to 5:30 at the Adams Horse Supply Adult Riders lounge on the main vendor row. Snacks and beverages will be provided and attendees are eligible for prizes!

Don't forget to visit one of our many vendors in the Sponsor Vendor Village which will be open from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. today. Each of these vendors has also sponsored this year’s AEC, many of them donating prizes as well, and we know they would appreciate your business and gratitude!

The days have been long but the dedication of our amazing crew of AEC Volunteers has been unwavering. Please, please, please take a second out of your day to express your gratitude for their time this week. We know it means the world to them!

Frankie Thieriot Stutes of Athletux will be offering live commentary of at least the Preliminary, Intermediate, and Advanced divisions of the livestream this year. She will be joined by Jon Holling in the booth.

About the Adams Horse Supply USEA Adult Team Championships

The Adams Horse Supply USEA Adult Team Championships, which debuted in 2014, is the capstone event for the USEA Area Adult Team Challenges, providing adults the chance to compete as a team and represent their Area of the country in a friendly and fun environment. Historically, adult riders had three regional Team Challenges in which to compete with fellow adults in a team environment, with the locations changing each year. In 2013, the USEA Adult Rider Coordinators voted to move to support Adult Team Challenges taking place in all 10 Areas across the country, with the finale being the ATC at the USEA American Eventing Championships presented by Nutrena Feeds. Each Area can send up to nine teams and 39 riders for the BN, N, T, and M levels, plus an additional eight members if they are at the Starter level only. Adult Riders know how to have a good time, and there is no doubt that they bring an increased level of excitement and camaraderie to the AEC!
