The #AEC2019 Daily: Thursday

Today is the first day that all three phases will take place at the 2019 USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC) presented by Nutrena Feeds at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Intermediate and Bates Preliminary divisions will be the first of the week to show jump in the famous Rolex Stadium. Intermediate will take to the ring from 8:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and Preliminary will follow beginning at 11:45 a.m. and finishing at 5:10 p.m.

Training and the Equistro Modified/Training will be taking their turn over Derek di Grazia’s cross-country track today stating at 8:00 a.m. with the Modified/Training division and followed by the four Training divisions beginning at 9:16 a.m. Cross-country will conclude at 4:46 p.m.

The six Novice divisions – Junior Novice, Junior Novice 15 and Under, Novice Rider, Novice Horse, Novice Amateur, and Novice Master Amateur – dance in the sandbox today starting at 7:42 a.m. and wrapping up at 6:00 p.m.

The $60,000 Adequan USEA Advanced Final also begins today with the dressage portion of competition. The first rider goes down centerline at 10:24 a.m. and the final rider enters the arena at 2:42 p.m. Check out all of the riders on the Advanced Roster.

  • 12:00 p.m. - Brian Murphy on show jumping
  • 3:00 p.m. - Tony Sandoval on fitness for the equestrian athlete and basic posture/neck strengthening exercises to help reduce the risk of injury
  • 5:00 p.m. - Brian Murphy on show jumping

There are also Beginner Novice, Novice, and Advanced cross-country course walks taking place today with USEA ICP certified instructors. Meet at the respective start boxes for the course walks.

Novice

  • Thursday 5:00 p.m. - Jackie Smith (ICP Level II)

Advanced:

  • Thursday after Preliminary Horse Show Jumping (4:00 p.m.) - Leslie Law (ICP Level IV)

About the $60,000 Adequan USEA Advanced Final

The $60,000 Adequan USEA Advanced Final will take place at the 2019 USEA American Eventing Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, August 27 – September 1, 2019. Thanks to Adequan’s amazing support, the Adequan USEA Advanced Final will bring together the country’s top rides to vie for $60,000 in prize money and the title of Adequan Champion. USEA Board of Governors Meet for the First Time During 2023 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention

This afternoon, USEA President Louise “Lou” Leslie welcomed U.S. Eventing Association (USEA) Board of Governors members, USEA staff, and USEA Annual Meeting & Convention attendees to the first of two Board meetings which will take place during this year’s Convention in St. Louis, Missouri, with the teaser that 2024 is going to be full of initiatives for more opportunities to access the eventing experience, some of which attendees might get first wind of during this year’s gathering.
