Tales of Triumph from the USEA Area VI Championships at Galway Downs

The Eventing Championships at Galway Downs featured an action-packed weekend with multiple championships, including the USEA Area VI Championships. In total, 11 USEA recognized championship divisions were offered with the addition of two championships at the Starter level. Get to Know What’s Happening in Area VI in 2023

West Coast eventers experienced tremendous success in 2022. Tamie Smith recorded top-10 finishes at Badminton in England, at the FEI World Championships at Pratoni in Italy, and at the Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill. Helen Alliston won the $60,000 Adequan USEA Advanced Final, and Tommy Greengard captured the USEA Intermediate Championship at the USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC), presented by Nutrena Feeds. James Alliston returned to the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event for the first time since 2017 and finished third in the CCI4*-S.

Nine Horse and Rider Pairs Rise to the Occasion at Ram Tap in the Area VI Championships

The Area VI Championships took place recently from October 21-23 at the Ram Tap Horse Trials in Fresno, California. Nine championship divisions were offered from the Introductory level through Preliminary and nine horse and rider pairs rose to the occasion to bring home the title of Champion in their respective divisions.

Area VI has produced its fair share of Olympians, such as, Jil Walton (1992 Barcelona), Gina Miles (2008 Beijing), Tamie Smith (2021 Tokyo), and Lauren Billys (2016 Rio de Janeiro and 2021 Tokyo representing Puerto Rico). 2020 Area VI Championships Round-Up

This year, the Area VI Championships took place on a sweltering weekend in Ramona, California at the Copper Meadows Horse Trials. In order to qualify to compete in the Area VI Championships in 2020, riders had to earn two MERs at the level at an event in Area VI during the qualifying period from August 1, 2019 to August 18, 2020.

Area VI Adult Riders Present Clayton Fredericks at Galway Downs

Clayton Fredericks will be teaching a two day clinic at Galway Downs in Temecula, CA on February 11 and 12, 2012. The first day will include stadium jumping and gymnastic work, while the second will focus on cross-country skills over the Ian Stark designed course. Clayton will also be offering private dressage lessons on Friday the 10th.
