SpeedCheck Returns as a Sponsor and Advocate for Safe Riding

By USEA | July 10, 2014

The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is delighted to announce that SpeedCheck has returned as a sponsor for the 2014 calendar year. They return as a Corporate Level Sponsor of the USEA, and proudly promote safe riding in all levels and disciplines.

SpeedCheck is a smartphone application that allows you to record your speed and distance, and lets you set the speed that you want to travel in meters per minute. It will alert you if you are going below or above that speed and the changes in pace that you make.

The app is another step in the progression towards safer riding, as it allows riders to train at home and practice the correct speed for all cross-country levels. Immediate alerts from the app will notify the rider if they are going too fast or too slow, and the constant feedback will help riders quickly learn what a particular pace feels like.

“Pace is one of the most important things for riders to learn,” said Jo Whitehouse, USEA CEO. “Riding at the correct pace reduces the risk of speed faults on the cross-country course and also saves unnecessary stress on a horse or pony. We are delighted to welcome SpeedCheck as a sponsor and to introduce our members to another educational tool for improving their skills.”
