Social Media Reactions to WEG List Announcement: Team USA Edition
The list of horse and rider pairs have been named to the Squad for the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team for the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, and social media was buzzing as soon as the announcement was made by the USEF. Here are some of the riders' reactions:
Lynn Symansky: "Beyond humbled and very excited to announce that Donner and I have been selected for the the 2014 World Equestrian Games. After such a tough year it's hard to believe that such a dream could come true. Enormous thanks to everyone on Team LSE who has stood with me and Donner every step of the way - couldn't have done it without you! Time to find the deer and I some heavy duty bubble wrap!"
Sinead Halpin: "YESSSS!!!!!!!! So proud to be named to TEAM USA!! This team IS GOING TO ROCK Normandy @ The World Equestrian Games!!"
Phillip Dutton: "Honored to be named to WEG squad w/ Boyd Martin's Trading Aces, as well as Bruce Duchossois' Mighty Nice as alternate."
Jan Byyny (alternate): "Am obviously sad not to be selected for the WEG, proud to be a alternate! Go USA"
Hannah Sue Burnett (alternate): "Holy crap did this just happen?! So honored to be named as an Alternate for the World Equestrian Games!!!! Couldn't be happier for my friends on the squad and fellow alternates!! Let's get us some medals USA!!!! So thankful for my team and my awesome pony William."
